December 21, 2013Memphis walked into Madison Square Garden and dominated New York inside and out as the Grizzlies defeated the Knicks 95-87 on a Saturday afternoon. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 30 points and seven rebounds over 42 minutes. J.R. Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. both posted 16 points off the bench. Memphis was led by former Knick, Zach Randolph?s 25 points and 15 rebounds over 38 minutes for a double-double. Tony Allen recorded 19 points over 35 minutes.
March 27, 2013New York, despite having a 30-point lead, hung on down the stretch behind clutch shooting and strong defensive stands to outlast the Memphis Grizzlies 108-101 at Madison Square Garden. New York was led by J.R. Smith for the second straight game as he recorded a team high 35 points on 10-18 shooting and a team high seven rebounds over 42 minutes. Smith leads the NBA among players coming off the bench in 20-point games. Smith entered the game FIRST in the NBA in scoring among players coming off the bench with 17.1 points (min. 10 games off the bench). In his last two game Smith has scored 67 points on 23-42 from the field. This was the first time in J.R. Smith?s career that he has scored 30 or more points in back-to-back games. Carmelo Anthony posted 22 points and a team high seven rebounds over 40 minutes. Iman Shumpert added 16 points-13 in the first quarter. Memphis was paced by Mike Conley?s 26 points and six assists over 39 minutes. Jerryd Bayless posted 24 points over 32 minutes?.New York outscored Memphis 32-16 in a second quarter that saw New York shoot 52.2% from the field as they built up a lead as high as thirty before closing out the half with a 69-41 advantage. Memphis outsocred New York in the second half by 21-points but New York was strong enough down the stretch to hold on the defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 108-101 at Madison Square Garden to even the season series on the year to 1-1.
 
Thanks for the game thread, Rady. We're in second half limbo. No point in tanking because we don't have a pick. Winning doesn't do us a heck of a lot of good because best case scenario is that it would just put us on a course for a 1st round sweep. My hope is to develop some young assets and try to just play some good, solid, fundamental, watchable basketball. I can't wait until this season is over and Dolan can finally get rid of Woodson with a "clear conscience".
 
Who'd they say is in walking boot and didn't travel I just missed it! Assuming Kmart? Won't lie partly tuned in to check for conspicuous absences of guys in trade rumors!

Offense stinks. Defense stinks. Coach stinks. Apparently, an All-Star break doesn't magically fix that.
 
I swear, if the other team sets one pick or makes one quick pass, it causes us to have a defensive breakdown 99% of the time.

Can't afford to have this pathetic a performance right before the trade deadline. Our odds of doing something incredibly stupid is rising by the second.
 
Great effort in the 3rd quarter, but we've seen this show over and over all year. Will we once again pay for only playing well part of the game and come up short yet again?
 
Woodson now showing he has no problem holding Felton out for the entire 4th quarter, but he continues to ride JR straight to the unemployment office. Much rather see Tyler or Shump out there.
 
Huge shot by THJ, but then we follow it with a baffling decision to leave Miller, a 3 point specialist, wide open once again for 3. Personally, I never get sick of Woodson pretending that these terrible lapses have nothing to do with him. He decides which players are on the court, he is at least partially responsible for this crap.

Ball has to go to THJ on this next possession, but it probably won't.
 
Seconds away from another gut-wrenching loss. Never followed a team that has found such painful ways to lose over and over.
