February 8, 2013 | Carmelo Anthony led the charge in the final quarter as he went on to score 12 points in the period to help the Knicks overcome a 11-point deficit in the final seven minutes as they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 100-94 on a Friday night showdown at the Target Center. Carmelo Anthony led the way with a team high 36 point and nine rebounds over 40 minutes. J.R. Smith came off the bench to record 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists over 35 minutes. Raymond Felton, Steve Novak and Amar?e Stoudemire all chipped in 11 points apiece. Minnesota was paced by Ricky Rubio?s 18 points, 11 assists and two rebounds over 39 minutes. Nikola Pekovic recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds over 36 minutes in a losing effort. Luke Ridnour added 20 points. The New York Knicks after leading 52-45 at the half managed only 18 points in the third period, which put them behind 76-70 with 12 minutes to play.
