This was the first time since the 2003-04 season that the Knicks defeated the Celtics twice in the regular season in Boston. J.R. Smith posted a team high 32 points on 13-24 shooting to lead the Knicks in the victory. Carmelo Anthony recorded 29 points and a team high eight rebounds over 36 minutes. Boston was paced by Jeff Green’s 19 points and 10 rebounds over 39 minutes. Paul Pierce recorded 16 points and six rebounds over 36 minutes. New York pulled away in the second quarter outscoring Boston 30-20 behind 11 points from Smith. Boston unable to forge a comeback in the second half, as New York held Boston to 16 fourth quarter points. |
