We get it kiya, you really like fields.
But you do realize that there are other sg's in the market right now, allot of them better, cheaper, and more fit for Woodson's system
We are clueless of headcoach Mike Woodson system now that he is no-longer an interim coach. Plus Mike Woodson have huge respect for any input Jason Kidd throws at him.
Skisloper....put logical clarity to your thread at best....
FIELDS $$ cannot be used for another player...
We have I think Vet minimum left...
There is no player better then fields that we can get at the vet minimum...
The Knicks Big-2 (Stat/Melo) $40M per salary has locked the expansion level of Knicks-fans mind worldwide .. The next 2 seasons the Knicks will be paying $5M each to starter SG-Fields and starter PG-Lin....
That is only $10M per added to the Knicks cap for a pair of Backcourt starters who Gell and co-exist with each other on offense and defense for the next two seasons .. one of the players happen to be a 82 game player who consistency is at 80% on offense or defense.
Is Landry Fields a better defender at SF than Melo? Hell Yeah!
Is Landry Fields a better defender at SG than JR.Smith? Hell Yeah!
The defensive lineup of Lin/Shump/Fields in the 3rd n 4th quarter provided more defensive stops in 20 games than the Knicks had in a decade.
Those who think a 6.10 Novak who work ethic the past 3 years have been at improving his skills/talent at the PF/SF position can also perform at the SG spot missunderstood the concept of a peremeter shooter.
PF-Dirk is a peremeter shooter Duncan n Amare are not.
SF-Melo is a peremeter shooter Lebron, Odom, n Josh are not.
SG-Ray Allen is a peremeter shooter Steve Jackson, Bell, n Fields are not.
PG-CP3 is a peremeter shooter Parker n Rondo are not.
The number-one reason we must match Landry Fields offer is Fields is a bold slasher who speed will stay in front of Lin n Kidd's fastbreak transition .. its not even a question on who Lin & Kidd would favor on a fastbreak dunk between Amare and Melo, or Fields and JR.Smith.
Here is the best cheap combo-guard on the market we could sign......
