Celts didn't want him to play in Summer League but he insisted he wanted to participate. That's motivation and hunger for a young player that could be taking it easy. Ichihiro in baseball is like that, guy lives for working out and playing baseball, never takes a vacation and wants to play baseball until he's 50.Saw early on why Ainge didn't want to give up Brown in trades

Rd. 1 in the Tatum vs Fultz fight to Tatum. Tatum hits the game winner and scores 21 pts. Fultz get's stuffed at the rim on the last play and scores 17 on 6/16 shooting.Man Tatum looks good, just converted a GROWN MAN move before the half concluded.
Donavon Mitchell looks fantastic, like it's too easy for him...he was 2nd on my pecking order from choices of DSJ/Monk/Frenchie
But I digress. Let’s get back to Kornet, who’s seen as somewhat of a stretch 5. In four years at Vanderbilt, Kornet averaged about 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 41.7% from the field (including 32% from beyond the arc on 3.7 attempts per game). He had a DRtg of 98.4 in his college career, but given the wild imbalance of talent that often exists in NCAA games, I wouldn’t definitively call him a good defender.
Kornet is not the shooter I thought he was and not as bad a defender either, according to his college stats.
Fultz looks great as a "scorer", figured he'd be the best guard in this draft but of course it's early many more prospects yet to see.
Looks like Frank won't play Wed. either and the feeling is why play him in the last game when he hasn't practiced. Looks like fans are going to have to wait until training camp to see him.
I replied to htr the other day and clearly said all indications is "he's not ready"...didn't think injury was a part of this at all. How sad he/we couldn't bring himself to play just a bit to get a feel/vibe of what it's like to be in this league. Talk about major baby sitting here.
Meanwhile players like Mitchell, Kennard, Fultz, Isaac, Tatum going hard body right out the gate.
What else did we expect from the Knicks and trust me right now they are super tight right now with the media. We've reverted back to the old Knicks prior to hiring Phil.
Tatum was billed as the most NBA-ready prospect... Isaac hurt already (see below), and I thought what Ntikilina did in France this last season was ten times more impressive that what MF showed at UW (lost at home to an Ivy League school).
NYK luck or bad fortune, but the kid banged knees a week ago, after skipping across the pond twice in 48 hrs. I think it's foolish to play him if he's not 100%. These games mean nothing. If he scored 50 or 1 point, it means nada....
I highly doubt we held him out bc he "wasn't ready for this level of competition." The NY way would be to shove him out there, to prove nothing, and then he seriously hurts himself.
By all accounts, this kid can play basketball. Is he more Ward than Strickland? Is he more Gerald Wilkins than Mo Cheeks? Who knows.... but I bet if he played at Oregon this year we would all have a higher opinion.

Jonathan Isaac (strained left hip) will not play in the Magic’s final two Summer League games.
Isaac initially suffered the injury in the first half of Monday's game vs. Dallas. He landed awkwardly after going up for a dunk and colliding with two Mavericks. He remained in the game for 40 seconds before heading to the bench. Isaac did not play in the second half. He had an MRI after the game, which revealed no structural damage other than the strain. The injury appears to be minor, but the Magic have no reason to play their prized rookie in meaningless exhibition games at anything less than 100 percent. Jul 4 - 12:00 PM
