Casey of TOR won the Coaches Coach award but Brad Stevens wasn't even in the running. He really deserves that COY award playing with a team that only returned 4 guys from last year's team along with all the injuries he's had. BOS down Larkin tonight so they only have Smart and Rozier to run the point, I've been waiting for these injuries to catch up to them but they lead the Sixers 25-24 1st qtr.

I hate the Celtics, but yeah, it?s ridiculous that none of the other 29 coaches in the league gave Stevens a vote for COY. Stevens handled it with class. Clearly, he is not respected by his peers in the NBA, but I have no idea why.
Great elimination game in BOS. It was like an Ali/Frazier fight with each team throwing punches at the end with the lead flipping back and forth with the Celts coming out on top 114-112. Tatum was asked how they did it and he said Stevens puts them in the right spots to succeed and other coaches don't think he should be Coaches COY. I'm not underestimating the Celts esp with the home court they have against the Cavs.
I saw Ainge come up to talk to Rozier at the end, probably telling him what a job he did but he should have bowed and kissed his feet for what he 's done in the playoffs.
Saw two plays with Saric guarding Horford during the game that Horford backed him down for easy layups, where was the help from Simmons or any Sixer who was standing about 6 ft from them. Contrast that to Embiid who got the ball knocked out of his hands by Rozier to go out of bounds for a critical TO.

Just heard Barkley go off about Stevens not getting a vote for this. Said it was petty jealousy by the other coaches, only reason I can think is Stevens is way smarter than all the other guys.

I have to admit Boston selecting rookie Tatum in the draft were the perfect player for coach Stevens system.

When you look at how coach Stevens has had great success from the Celtricks guards to have a 53 win season then a 55 win season in the past two years, and both season visit the ECF .. And receive no votes from other coaches .. Com'on! Look at what Stevens got out of Rozier?
Rozier has been turning heads in the postseason games he's a better fit to keep the player and the ball-movement flowing in Boston system.
I hope Ainge were whispering a long extension contract to Rozier .. he's becoming a expensive commodity in the postseason games.

Boston's team-chemistry at moving the ball around had six of their starters score in double figures .. committing only 10 turn-overs in the game.

He literally turned Pierce-Garnett-Allen-Rondo-Doc into the above and everyone laughed at him the whole way. I remember specifically last yr when the Celtics had a chance to acquire Serge Ibaka and was in talks with Orlando but didn't want to include Rozier, many were calling him nuts and overrating the kid
I also remember when Phil pump faked on trading #kporzee I said getting the #3 pick and Rozier plus filler(future pick and high rotation asset) was where his value is, it was sluffed off by Knick fans. I trust mostly what Ainge does because his moves make sense, they usually work, and they fit well together
I was hella wrong on who I thought The Celtics were targeting during the draft though. I felt Tatum was the most NBA Ready but figured Ainge was going to go hard for Josh Jackson(who had a very slept on back half of season)

Since the daze of coach Red Auerbach the Boston Celtics organization has always kept one of the top best coaching-staff and NBA/College scouts in the business. I do give Ainge some credit for having a owner and front office of great B.Ball thinkers above Ainge, plus they are the one's doing the majority of hiring the employees under Ainge.
Simmons can turn out to be a #1 lottery bust if he doesn't develop a jump shot. Its one thing to go from a 31% 3 pt shooter to a better one but to go from zero makes to a better one is something else. Big holes in his game and despite his probably winning ROY he's a candidate to me to be an Anthony Bennet type bust.

Rookie Simmons showed throughout the regular season he could play 3 to 4 position on the court by having elite ball passing-skills n attacking the glass as a strong-forward, plus Simmons has the talent to grab the defensive player award in the 76ers future.

Watching the 76ers vs Boston series of Embiid shooting so many 3-ball shots plus taking so many shots from the perimeter throughout the series are the number one reason the 76ers loss the series 4-1.
Boston's Horford and Baynes combine to average 3 shots per game from 3 ball line in series.
Embiid average four shots from the 3-ball line per game in the series shooting 23% 3 ball.

Embiid were suppose to average 10 or more shots from the foul line per game throughout the series by just posting-up in the paint, especially when the 76ers got great quick ball-movement from lights-out shooters Reddick /Bellini /Saric /and McConnell.
All of Boston coach Stevens design plays on offense/defense were to keep Embiid out of the paint .. Embiid helped Boston out by always staying on the perimeter making his teammates and me upset, plus averaging only 3 fouls per game in the series and the majority of those fouls were on the perimeter instead of protecting the paint.

The Raptors firing coach Casey after getting swept in the 2nd round postseason only goes to show us Knick fans how many great head coaches are still available in offseason .. I doubt the Raptors will hire a head coach that got fired this season after coaching 19 games!
