Game Thread: New York Knicks @ Charlotte Hornets 7:00pm 1/23/2016

Lin steals it from Sasha... DW misses a layup... Melo still on the bench.

19-31 from FT line now

Weird first 6 plus minutes of the 4th quarter. We are doing nothing special and still playing sloppy, but we've manage to get the lead all the way down from 21 to 10. On top of that, Fisher looks like he has partially given up as if this game is over as Melo and Robin Lopez stay glued to the bench. We're down 10 with over 5 minutes to play.

I have no clue why Lopez, Langston, and Melo are on the bench.

Affalo just had the worst turnover you'll ever see.

Yeah, I was fine with Melo sitting and seeing what these guys got, but it's time to put him in after these plays (minus Williams missing the lay-up, that's not normal for him).

Fish looks like he's given up not putting Rolo and Melo back in. There's enough time and its close enough not to give up.

Apparently Fisher thinks they're the number one seed.

26 for LIN. KP and Melo with 22 combined points. Melo hasn't returned since 2 left in the third...

Calderon does his patented foul a guy making a layup by tapping him and thus ensuring a 3-point play.

Have you've ever seen a worse effort in 2 games from a starting SG than what we saw from AA last 2 games? Yikes...

Knicks better get 2 starting guards in here pronto or else we stand little chance making the playiffs

Green light by Fisher, he's a players coach but maybe the Knicks would be better off with someone like Clifford, someone who would bench you if you screw up.
It's also weird that KP is even taking this many shots, it doesn't seem to be his style to jack shots up like that unless he's hot. The Knicks need to get their ball movement back again, otherwise be prepared for these kind of games again. Hopefully this pathetic game sparks another run like the loss to the Bulls did, except THIS kind of loss doesn't happen again.

If Dolan wasn't insane... A petulant, spoiled, paranoid, insecure, fathead... We would bring back Thibidaeu or Van Gundy...

CHA just caught us and will pass us in standing when we lose to OKC tuesday

The question of the game is why Melo and Rolo weren't in there the entire 4th qtr. Weird since this was a winnable game that would have gotten us to .500 again. They've got a free roster spot and they can do 10 day contracts, this game showed the roster needs improvement. I would be disappointed if PJ just sits on his hands through the deadline.

Good point in post game... This was 4th game in 6 days. Week started with them getting home late from MeMphis... Played last night and travelled (dealt with snow nonsense)...

What Pops called a schedule loss, espexily when Melo left with an injury and we played 3 OTs this week.

Not an excuse, and I expect a loss in Tuesday... But I do think we enter ASB at .500 or a game above it.

Still, how did CHA win by double digits when they shot 36%?

Like JVG said... Easiest thing to do is to go from bad to .500... Harder to go from a .500 team to a "winning" team... Then even harder to go from that to a title worthy team.

I don't expect this team to play good/great all the time right now, and what you posted are understandable reasons why they haven't played as well. They're still a fresh squad, and only turned things around THIS MONTH, but yeah, tonight's game was disappointing any way you spin it. They weren't just missing shots, that happens to the best teams, I was disappointed in their all around play.

I think what disappointed me the most, especially after that 4th Q JG had a little while back... And considering how LG has played lately... A real letdown those 2 young dudes, with fresh legs, disappeared and forced DF to call upon SAsha.

With Lt out... AA and JC running on fumes, with no ROLO and Melo and a Quiet KP... DW needed help and those 2 were nowhere to be found.

More than halfway into the season and JG is running out of time... Only so much longer team can depend on him before help us sought elsewhere. And LG is proving to be nothing more than a serviceable backup...

I still hold out hope for LG this season to be more impactful... JG looks more like a bust than a guy who'll bloom into something in 1-2 years.

And with. 0 pick this draft... If JG is a bust... That's a killer
