Game thread: New York Knicks @ Dallas Mavericks 11/2/2018 [Game #9]

That was a good teamm they beat. DJ Barnes Matthews Doncic DSJ etal. Bet Fiz has found his starting lineup and 2nd u poinit.

I wholeheartedly disagree about the Mavs being a good team. You are what your record say you are...2-7 is not good. Names on the back of jerseys is never the true wave. Barnes is flat out trash, Matthews is a washed 3 and D guy, DJ is what he is and DSJ/Doncic are their best players. They have some of the worst defensive metrics in the league. Mavs may break out next yr when they rid themselves of Barnes and Matthews.

I believe the win by us was certainly earned though, we completely controlled the game and had them on their heels for 4qrts.

Team-Ball WIN !!!

Triers 14 pts in the 4th qtr. are showing to be our future 4th quarter scorer ..
Allonzo Trier has been reminding me of the Clippers dynamic 4th qtr. scorer Lou Williams.
The Knicks had a decent team-ball performance in the first half of the game .. then came out Ballin in the 2nd half of the game playing win-win B.ball .. the Knicks stole the game from Mavs by grabbing 33-18 3rd quarter to have a 12 pt lead to start the 4th qtr.
The best part of the game were the Knicks held on to their 12 pt lead throughout the 4th quarter for a mighty Knicks Win ..
I liked the idea of having MitchRob & Kanter in the crunchtime lineup .. Game-Ball go to coach Fiz, and to rookies MitchRob & Trier
.... GO KNICKS !!!

The Knick Players/Coaches needed this ROAD win to boost their confidence.
It does not matter bout the Mavs probably being a lottery team this season, the Knick players did what a winner opponent spose to do !!!

Over the Knicks last 3 games:

NY is allowing 100.7 points per 100 possessions while Mitchell Robinson is on the court, and 113.1 points while he is off the court.
NY is allowing 114.9 points per 100 possessions while Enes Kanter is on the court, and 99.4 points while he is off.

You have a point, I said they were a good team based on their roster and not their record. A win against 2-7 team is probably not the best gauge to measure this young Knicks squad overall but I do think this first and second unit will get an extended look from Fiz. Knox when he returns will be coming off the bench to try to earn a starting spot again but the ankle sprain is a definite setback in him getting a starting spot.

Dallas is one of several teams that you would think would be better than their record. It?s been a strange start to the NBA season. The top teams are mainly still there, but there is definitely a murkiness of the mid to lower tier teams. If Fizdale gets this team out there ready to compete every night, we could be a lot better record wise than our roster talent would suggest. This is bad news for team tank, but probably good news for team free agency.

Yeah, you know when players get injured early sometimes we as fans tend to panic but in Knox case I'm not worried nor thinking about if he'll be injury prone and if he'll recover his mojo. As you said it's a set back, unfortunate timing for him but I have complete confidence he'll work his way back into the form we need him to be. I expect him to take Lance's minutes game-by-game.

Yeah Mavs have a roster that made you think they'd be better but again it's based on names and not reality. When you post some of the worst defensive metrics in the league after you signed a player to address this is telling...I'm siding with Parcells for now. Could things change with plenty games remaining, sure...but I won't hold my breath concerning the Mavs

I think Fiz feels comfortable making any change he needs. As of now I don't think he's thinking set in stone anything. Robinson didn't really earn his spot in the starting lineup but when his number was called he produced, same with Vonleh. Knox can recover likewise. This seems to be what it comes down to with Fiz. If I give you a shot make it count

Thus far Fiz is gaining some momentum on the development assessment...(Robinson/Dotson/Trier are making clear improvements)

Great game by our squad :gony:

A lot of players stepped up today. The rookies Trier/MRob are unbelievable. Frank had 7 points/7 assists/3 steals/1 block. I'd take that over 23 points/0 assists/6 turnovers every ****ing time.

We play against the 1-7 Wizards on Sunday. Easy dub right there :smokin:

The Wizards game will be the game to see if the Wizards Wall & Beal still has Timmy numbers for the win over the Knicks.
The Knicks have 2 rookies (Trier & MitchRob) plus two 2nd season players (Frank & Dotson) in their new 10 man rotation .. A good reason why I would not take FortKnox off the injury-list so soon.
Has the Knicks worked out an assistant-coaching deal with Rasheed or Billups or Patrick Ewing? Or was their visit just a visit ???

Having the two former Detroit champions and the legendary Ewing coach the young guys would be IMMENSE in their development. I hope they at least keep bringing these knowledgeable old school players to give tips and hints to our squad.
