Game thread: New York Knicks @ New Orleans Pelicans 8:00 11/16/2018 [Game #16]

THJ, Mudiay, and Burke have combined for 65 points. I can?t remember the last time we had 3 guards carry the load this much.
 
We going to see the classic tank formula tonight? Play tough for 3 and a half quarters and then roll over in the last 6 minutes? Pelicans have cut the lead to 4. AD is unstoppable.
 
Pels cut the lead to 4. 5 mins left. First THJ gets caught on a mismatch against AD who spins off him for a dunk and the Jrue steals the ball and feeds it to Randle for a dunk

Fizdale got sub happy down the stretch. He's getting outcoached if this isn't by design
 
Pelicans getting endless 2nd chances on the offensive boards. A lineup of MRob, Knox, Trier, THJ, and Burke is not going to get it done on the boards.
 
Like Wally is saying right now, how can you not block out on a missed free throw? Randle gets the putback on the AD free throw miss and a possession later the lead is stretched to 6 with 34 seconds left. This is some tank basketball right here, whether it is by design or not.
 
You knew it would happen the moment the buzzer sounded, and Fiz substitutes Knox out of the game.

I?ll never understand why a coach subs out a hot hand....

Knox scores 8 quick points in the 3rd Q, the hottest he?s been since returning from his injury, so naturally Fiz gets him out of the game bc he wants him rested for the final stretch in the 4th.

You saw it coming then...

Knox sits for like 30 minutes... comes back into game late 4th and does nothing.

Who knows how the game turns out if Fiz rides Knox. The bum was better off burning Knox out and sitting him the entire 4th

I feel your frustration.

I was baffled by some of his other substitutions, but then I remembered what his ultimate goal is.

I forget what game I saw but just like that comeback win I saw of the Pels Jrue took over along with AD. Jrue is a pitbull on D, I haven't seen his net rating but I bet its positive. BTW, Nits net rating is near -10 this season worse than his rookie year.

Mudiay was subbed out too after he was one giving Holiday fits on the offensive end. We scored on a couple possessions then went heavy ISO rest of game with wasted possessions.

Mudiay while not having notched assist on his well played game tonight, makes sure we run our sets properly. We freelance a lot when he's not on the floor. Late 4th qrt we were pure trash offensively

Fiz got worked tonight in the second half. If it wasn't for the Pels early disinterest, this game would've long been over
 
After that encouraging start to the season, somehow we are now in a 3-way tie for most losses in the NBA. Crazy.
 
Jrue with a+4.1 net rating top 1/3 in the league. Not as good as I thought.

Fiz saying he is going with this lineup after having success with it for 3 1/2 qtrs. Mario odd man out sitting on the bench this game.
