Game Thread: New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers 7:30 11/5/2017 [Game #9]

Kristaps Porzingis has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 33.5 points and 3.3 blocks on 54.4 percent shooting from the field over the Knicks' last four games.

The 22-year-old scored a career-high 40 points while swatting six shots in the Knicks' comeback win over the Pacers on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden.

In nine games this season, Porzingis is averaging 30.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks while playing 33.4 minutes per game.

I get the point TKF was trying to make although respect where due should be given to the team thus far.

The perspective is much the same as some have expressed here that it's a forgone conclusion the Cavs/Warriors will meet in the Finals when both teams haven't put on their best faces to start(primarily Cavs). Celtics have won 9 in a row an I bet nothing they've done so far has given anyone pause to them reaching the Finals. They've never looked better.

I wonder what their fan base is thinking? Kyrie is playing like an MVP(diversifying his game), their young kids are playing like seasoned Vets. Yeah they probably feel if DA can make a Dec 15th to deadline tweak trade to absorb the Gordon blow they'll be there. Hey it's the Cs...Knick fans are supposed to hate them at all costs I guess...iono. Once again perspective though

D'Angelo Russell has All-Star type numbers this season and yet he was looked at as a Bust...perspective

As of now our team is playing well, probably better than expected will not hate on the success but nothing has changed for me in terms of the far away outlook. #kporzee has done his part keeping me buttoned up though...lol

BOS is way ahead of anybody else (in terms of ruling the post GSW & Lebron era)...

A roster of quality young kids... Tatum, Brown, Kyrie, GH, Roziet and Smart.

With NY, as presently constructed.... If KP gets hurt and misses 5 games... NY will go 0-5.

NY has a long road ahead of them to build a team around KP and Knits.

I'm praying for a top 5 pick. That would be more nutritious for our long-term health than losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Still, the only goal for this season is to see KP become a budding star; for Knits to prove he has a future as a starter; and for THJr to prove he's a good 2nd option. Toss in developing the other kids.

We're only 1/8 into this... this start means little if KP hurt again cone Feb and plays poorly come spring.

But... we'll talk about that when the time comes. In a game thread, We're simply commenting on what we are watching that night.

Look at Davis in NO and see all that losing. We never built around Ewing or Melo... let's build around KP.

But KP isn't just at playing well himself, but he's also raising all the boats around him... inspiring.... becoming a true leader.

After years of blah.... nah, after decades of crap.... this is refreshing

We know with NY things can go south quickly.... remember, we were 14-10 last season.

Maybe we get lucky and Kyrie comes to NY after next season.

If you don't get, there's nothing else to say. Take out the 3-pointers? What? Let's compare hitters and ignore HR or batting average?

The whole point with KP is the fact he's a threat to both block shots and hit 3s.

I get it.... You aren't impressed with KP. You voiced your opinion and I threw a stat at you that confirmed what kP did his first 2 seasons had never been done before.

Yeah, he was inconsistent his first 2 seasons.... dealt with injuries and foul trouble and instability at coaching and the dysfunction at MsG. But, like Dirk, he's now exploding in year 3.... let's see if he sustains this level of play. For 1/8th of the season, so far so good.

I didn't bother reading your post bc I have better things to do.

KP was a BUM his first two seasons in the NBA!
KP stunk-up the starter lineup the past two years.
This is not the whinning-crying KP that ran home to get his big brother instead of going to the final meeting to be ridicule by teammates for his 33 minute inconsistent performance night after night.

Today, without Iso-Melo in NY .. KP performance has turned into a consistent WINNING Star Player.
I'm Happy KP has finally been consistent at playing at the next level for 48 minute a game, KP is performing like all the million dollar HYPE publicity he received the past two seasons.
Today, I'm interested in the performance of our two Rookies coming out the Gate as NBA Ready Guards ....

This was a great breakout type game for Frank. He?s still got a long way to go but he?s starting to realize how to be more effective .. when to go rather than hold back.
Frank has some SLICK passes that are just exquisite in timing and delivery. He really can run this offense and will only get better.

Man oh man Frank Nitty locked Collison down at 19!!!
Thomas and Frank shut down the pacers backcourt, that defense was special to watch i cant believe he is only 19, his IQ and court vision is spectacular. I think hitting those big threes, are just what the doctor ordered for his shooting touch.
When frank is hitting his shots and taking command of the offense with his vision he become hard for the coach to take off the floor like last night performance.
What a great game to watch. For this team to come back from 20 points down was HUGE. I really enjoy watching a Knicks team play D. And Kanter is playing really well on the boards ..
EVERYONE seems to be pitching in and playing as a TEAM! GO KNICKS !!!
