Recent meetings
February 21, 2014New York fell to Orlando in a hard fought, heartbreaking game as the Magic downed the Knicks in Orlando 128-121 in double overtime at the Amway Center. New York was led by all-star Carmelo Anthony?s 44 points and 11 rebounds over 50 minutes. Tyson Chandler added his tenth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Raymond Felton and Tim Hardaway Jr. both added 15 points. Orlando was led by rookie Victor Oladipo?s 30 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds over 49 minutes. Arron Afflalo posted 32 points and three rebounds over 43 minutes. Tobias Harris recorded 22 points and eight rebounds over 42 minutes.
December 23, 2013Despite seeing a 25-point lead trimmed down to one, New York held strong without the services of Raymond Felton and Carmelo Anthony down the stretch as they survived a 103-98 victory over the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 19 points and three rebounds over 24 minutes. Anthony has led the Knicks in scoring in every game this season. J.R. Smith came off the bench with 18 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Tyson Chandler posted 10 points and 13 rebounds over 40 minutes for his first double-double of the season. Orlando was paced by Arron Afflalo?s 26 points, five assists and five rebounds over 44 minutes. Glen Davis added 20 points and seven rebounds over 39 minutes. Nikola Vucevic recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds over 36 minutes for a double-double.

Thanks again for the great game thread.

Nothing to do at this point in the season with how we've played so far but to keep watching and remain cautiously optimistic that any game could be the game where we start to figure things out. Hard to believe that with this game tonight we're already more than 10% through the regular season. Personally, I continue to look towards Shump's play as a major positive for us because given that we're going to let him become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, maybe we can trade him for some significant value before the deadline this season. Let's go Knicks!

Too much if you think about it, barely recognized that team with Crawford and Malik Rose

Acy into the starting lineup tonight. I've liked what we've seen from him so far and firmly believe his decreased usage has been due to his wrist injury rather than Coach Fisher just not wanting to play him.

Knicks pre-game show mentions Tobias Harris as a possible target for the Knicks, maybe even in trade during the season. Also read that rumor on the internet earlier today, except the internet spun it as Harris being a friend of Melo with whom he has had chemistry with during offseason pick-up games. In my opinion, Harris is a tweener and exactly not the kind of guy we need to target, unless he comes at a cheap price, but who knows? Leave no stone unturned I suppose. Probably just another unfounded rumor that we'll never hear again after tonight.

Absolutely no reason not to win this game. The Magic are bad, they've played 3 games in 4 nights, they've got some key injuries and the Knicks are home and favored to win by 6.5 points.

If they do manage to lose, PJ is full of crap, there is trouble in River City.

Starting lineup of Melo, Dalembert, Acy, Shump, and Larkin is apparently 2 - 0. All other starting lineups 0 - 6.

Time until Knicks allow the other team to penetrate easily into the paint and kick it out to a wide open spot shooter who then drains a 3? One minute.

Another aggressive offensive start for Shump. Acy playing a Varejao-like role, getting two offensive boards and just overall seeming to be playing at a different energy level than everyone else on the court.

Is there a white guy with beards injury curse on the Knicks? Calderon and Bargnani both white guys with beards and hurt all season. Jason Smith and Cole Aldrich, white guys without beards, continue to stay healthy. Pablo Prigioni is excluded from this analysis since he sometimes has a beard and sometimes doesn't.

Just let them drop 31 on us in the 1st quarter. Hard to accept. Defense just isn't there, although a lot of the damage was Fournier and a 7 - 0 run to close the quarter against our 2nd unit.

Starting lineup of Melo, Dalembert, Acy, Shump, and Larkin is apparently 2 - 0. All other starting lineups 0 - 6.

Fisher biggest problem was not having a starting lineup at the start of the season.
Result is a no chemistry team.

Knicks gonna Win this one 2-6 vs 2-6

That's what I said DFish needed to avoid was to not have a starting lineup coming out of camp. Calderon being out hurt.

Still too close a game, we should be all over the Magic.

Harris going berserk in the final few minutes of the 1st half. Still not sure if this is yet another case of us making an average player look great with our weak defense. For further reference, note Fournier's 15 points in the 1st quarter.

Losing by 6 at the half. We might actually be a worse team than the Magic right now with how little our defense can do to contain anyone. Offense hasn't been bad, but we'd need to be the D'Antoni and Nash Suns to overcome this level of defensive liability on a regular basis.

Halftime not looking good for the Knicks ....
Orlando Magic played last night holding a 10 point lead over the Raptors all game until the 4th qtr. when the Raptors took the lead and the WIN.

Magic 5/7 on 3s, glad they didn't take 12 3s because we would be down by double digits. Calderon and Bargnani aren't going to fix the defense when they come back. This team is just bad.
