RJ plays both ends, even in games RJ is off, atleast he shows up for the next one.

Randle hasn't played any defense all season long and has the worst shooting %. I don't even got Randle ahead of Toppin at this point. Randle is empty stats because it becomes negated with his turnovers, bad shooting and no defense. Guys like Fournier and Kemba struggle on defense, but atleast they're shooting the ball. Randle hasn't shown up much this season.

Knicks are 4-4 when Randle scores 30 (Julius Randle is shooting below 50% FG in those games, went 8-24 33% FG in a loss)
where as Knicks are 3-0 when RJ Barrett scores 30. (RJ is shooting 60% FG in those games, all decisive victories)

Knicks are looking at Turner and Grant? I think if NYK smart? they trade Randle now while value at its peak?.

1 made basket and 6 shots? Against that SA team?

He?s soft and benefitted from now fans. Open up playing time for Obi, clear the court?. Get a Sabonis or Grant to replace him!

Obi might get the same minutes even if Randle is traded as long as Thibodeau is the coach.

I don't like the fans booing their own players. I'm just not a fan of Randle's game on offense. He's playing like Melo when he lost athleticism (not that athleticism was a big part of his game) and was past his prime, forcing things, losing the ball. I think even Melo was a better ball handler than Randle. I didn't watch a lot of last season so maybe I'd be fine with his play right now and take it as just struggles that he might get past along with other factors such as coaching, lack of playmakers, and players being out. If judging by just this season, it's been pretty bad basketball and the Knicks are not going to win anything playing like this.
 
Once again we?re sitting right around 0.500 at the halfway mark. Can this team make another big 2nd half of the season surge? If not, we?re looking at the play-in.

This franchise has assets. Like to think this year we make a big move before the trade deadline, but not something stupid obviously.

Trading Randle should certainly be on the table, but his return will not be as big as it could be with him slumping recently. His contract is big, but not a team killer. We got to look at who we can bring in to be the new alpha and let Randle be the 2nd or 3rd option.
 
Yes, no need to salary-dump JR or give him away. But, if a contender sees him as an important piece? say LAK or PHI or something?. The. Bring back an asset and move on.

I would prefer to trade JR and keep RJ, bc I feel RJ at 27 will be the better player.

Nothing stupid. Keep eye on prize of building a true winning team that can sustain success for 3-5 seasons!

If Mitch and RJ get us that special player? great! If not, build around the kids.

Just noticed how after a Knick lost there isn?t a lot of opinions being stated? example: look at the lost to Boston thread. 1 page!!
A win? and everyone on the band wagon. For the record I see nothing to cheer about win or lost. My Thoughts are well documented.

Why is it that everyone of you except Kiya is looking for that Alpha player or as I put it Transformative Player. They have no trade contract if they don?t like the team. So who do you think is going to come to the Knicks with the Cancer that exist on this team? I don?t need to remind you of the Walker situation which is current? don?t need to mention those other, huh.
If you can?t trade for a transformative player and one or two aren?t coming in FA? How do you improve this team?
The Draft?? But we aren?t tanking? F.O. Wants to make the playoffs so all of you can jump up and down about what a Great team the Knicks are.
Where is the light going to come from?? A train at the end of the tunnel and not the Future??

The only reason you don?t consider trading for an alpha an option is that our front office has made it look harder than it is. Other teams do it when the opportunity arises.

It is a fact that exactly zero players in the NBA currently have a no trade clause. Zero.

There are 21 players in the NBA right now who can veto a trade this season because they signed a 1 year deal with their current team in the off-season (technicality of that type of signing).

RJ scores over 30 and steals a victory from Jaws of defeat and KIYA rags on Barrett for not passing more to Obi

If JR and RJ were gone, it would take a week before everybody would want to run IQ and Obi out of town.

Maybe Obi is best served as a 16 minute energy guy off the bench?

There's nothing to point to Obi being best served as a 16 minutes energy off the bench. Him being an energy bench guy is understandable being a young sophomore player, but getting such a small amount of time when he's been playing well doesn't add up. He wasn't great at starting when Randle wasn't playing recently, which is understandable. I don't expect Obi to be that player yet. My problem is when Obi and the bench are playing much better than the starters, then Randle comes in place of Obi without deserving to.
 
trade Robinson and Randle and throw in a pick if you can get someone good!!

sign Cousins for the remainder of the season as a player who has the ability to score in the playoffs.

Bucks waived him on Jan 6. You would think that with all these GLeaguers on 10 days that if teams thought he had anything left he'd be playing.
