Game Thread: New York Knicks vs Utah Jazz 2:30pm 1/20/2016

Melo with yet another assist setting up Derrick Williams for a huge 3. We get Hayward to make the offensive foul and we have the chance to grab control with under 2 minutes to go yet again.
 
Robin Lopez with the hoop to get his season high 20th point. Hood answers down the other end, but Derrick Williams with an amazing effort on the offensive glass to get the and-1. Lead is 6 with 1 minute to go. CLOSE THIS OUT.
 
Derek Williams!!!! Drains a three and then battles the glass and draws the ANd-1....

What a game from DW... And give credit to LG... He ran the offense in OT... Great job.
 
Robin Lopez with the putback to get the lead to 7 with 40 seconds to go in OT. Robin Lopez, Melo, and Derrick Williams all with outstanding individual performances to get us in position to CLOSE THIS OUT.
 
Once again, Utah drains a 3 taking virtually no time off the clock. Lead is now 4 with still 38 seconds to go. CLOSE THIS OUT.
 
Melo gets the lead to 6, but again, virtually no time comes off the clock as Hayward answers down the other end. Still 29 seconds to go and Utah has the ball again after the Galloway turnover.
 
Seriously, how the hell was the ref not supposed to trip over that cameraman? The dude is sitting there with his legs out taking up the entirety of the narrow out of bounds area at mid court. Ridiculous.
 
We hold on to win by 7, but man, does Utah know how not to go away. Nice win for us to get back to 0.500, but these 2 OT games are going to take their toll on our guys.
 
I agree with Clyde Hero's abound, too many for me to give the game ball to. Man, it would be nice to break .500 against the Clips.
 
Another great win although it took another OT session this team is growing on up before our eyes; Congrats to Melo for passing the great Larry Bird on the all-time scoring list haters be damned:)

A bunch of teams in that 5-10 range... We only trail the 5th seed by 2 games (3 on loss side)...

This was a great win. They had to fight their way back in the third and fourth, and win in OT. They had three OTs in two games and won both of them. This is not about their mistakes, which they have to improve. This is about the fight this team has. It doesn't matter who it's against at this point. This is a fresh squad, with young players. They're playing team ball and closing out games. It's not always pretty, but this team is showing they're for real. When a team plays the Knicks they better prepare for a tough game.
 
They're talking about the FT shooting being so important and I don't remember the Knicks ever having so many 80% FT shooters on the team.

Even if the last 2 weren't pretty... NYK has basically won every game "they should win." They lost to the Nets only bc Melo was out... You could argue they should've beaten Utah on the road... But we aren't on that level yet... At the very least, we take of our bizness

Still... We should be able to go 7-4 next 11 and enter ASB at 29-26. I'll take that at the break.
