How about Allen Iverson?

AI would have been a good pick last yr to have for a year...we don't need anymore semi star scrubs on the team for a year and then drop...we need to start adding players that will be here for the long run

How about Von Wafer. Dude shoots 40% from 3, and isn't a bad Defender. And will most likely be Cheap if the rockets don't resign.

It's a less risky move just cuz the money will be less as opposed to AI. Considering how AI is not in our long term plans, it would be a complete waste of time to otherwise develop players.

The only risk with Von is that maybe his 40% 3 is inflated cuz Yao gets doubled and also is one of the best passing Centers.

Do you remember Von Wafer being in our summer league this year??? Now he starts games for Houston...i love how well our scouts are at spotting talent lol missed an NBA starter on a summer league team.

Thats not the Iverson that is going to be a free agent.

The iverson that is is older, mor injury prone, and not able to produce as consistently as he did in that video.

1997-2005 AI
-Top of his game
-MVP (but got owned by Kobe-Shaq)
-4 scoring championships

2009 AI
-He is out this season
-12 years older...
-15 PPG! not 30
-Inconsistent
-He still NEEDS the ball in his hands to make a move. He isn't Rip Hamilton; someone who is best without the ball.

If it was that 97-05 iverson, i'd think about it. But is is not.

Plus, with how fast we play and how worn out he is, wouldn't he be TWICE as prone to injury?
After all, he was playing in a HALF COURT game with DET.

Iverson would excel in Mike D's system...playing in a half court game is what iverson is worse at...he needs the uptempo style with his ability to drive to the hoop and cut threw defenders.

Fans don't want him because of his attitude and me first style of play.

Hasn't anyone realized that Q Rich, Chandler and Al Harrington have been the biggest jocks in the NBA?? They're making Iverson look like a team player. Put Iverson on this team and he would jump at the oppurtunity, this is exactly like stephon and we all know how good Steph would have done in this system.

Next season, keep waiting
I think Iverson's abilities have been understated in this thread. Sure he's a born scorer but he also racks up assists. If he can get it in his head that he must share the ball and defer to a big man, he can be apart of a championship team. Let's not forget that Iverson excelled in Denver. For quite a few games he out played Anthony and for a minute there were talks of Denver trading Anthony. Then reality set in that youthful skill will always be more valuable then an aging player.

Iverson in NY, don't think it will happen. We've got too many guys that score first and don't do much else. We need some defensive specialist period, but we'd really need D if we were to trade or sign A.I.

To me Iverson is like Marbury in that you need a certain supporting cast around them. They were favorites in the 90's but they don't help us now. You are right, we need strong interior D if we get them

I see the following PF's/C's available in Free Agency that i wouldn't mind getting (if they weren't resigned) Chris Andersen, Theo Ratliff, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess. Honestly don't know if Rasheed or Theo could play in this system.

Theo would be great...just like Mutombo was! lol

Theo would block the hell out of everybody adn if we only played him 10 minutes a game that would be perfect so he can take away Jeffires minutes.

He is slow but we play a half court game most of the time anyways, we can't have a high uptempo offense when we play horrible defense, thats were Theo comes in.

Having any kind of shotblocker will make us 100000 times better.

if they wanted AI they couldve kept starbury

knicks look like they need a pure shooter with robinson in the backcourt

but most of all inside D, thats all, no need for j-kidd, his time is up
