Knicks 2015 Preseason Game Two ??? - October 9, 2015

Yahoo shows our record as 0-0 so Brazil doesn't count. Washington was a second rd. playoff team so it will be a better test against a real NBA team that destroyed the Sixers their last game. They have a very good backcourt and the Knicks starters had a hard time defending the perimeter against Brazil, the backcourt matchup will be the key to the gamen imo. Kyle and Seraphin feasted on those Brazilian bigs, lets see how the two fare against guys just as physical as them in Gortat, Nene and Humphries. I'm looking for the boys to hold Washington to less than 100 pts when the Sixers gave up 129.

I think progress was apparent from last season, the roster is better and Melo doesn't show any ill effects from his knee surgery and looks to be 100%. We may not need the Zinger to be an all-star after all for the team to make the playoffs.
 
Porzingis opens up with an airball on his first jumper, but comes right back and drains his next two shots, including a pick and pop 3-pointer setup by Melo. Don't love this starting lineup with Calderon and Vujacic, but I like how much Melo and Porzingis are playing together so far.
 
Porzingis finishes 1st quarter with 5 points, 5 boards, and a nice block, but we trail by 4 after the 1st quarter. Even in this preseason game, you can see how tough Washington is going to be again this year. They seem like a very deep squad.
 
It's interesting to watch Robin Lopez basically maul the other team's rim protector every time one of our guys drives for a layup. Either we are going to score a lot of points in the paint with him on the court or he is going to get a whole lot of offensive fouls.
 
Nice half for Melo scoring 12 points on 6 of 10 shooting and adding 3 assists. He looks like the pre-injury Melo so far. Our starting unit closed out the 1st half well and we lead at the half 60 - 55. Quote from Melo at the end of the half interview when asked about Porzingis - "We're not worried about KP. He's going to be alright"
 
Help me out here...the DEFENSE with LOPEZ is piss poor. He never anywhere near anyone. Great first half for a team that's not played together. Still to many uncontested shots. If I am wrong please straighten me out.

The Washington Wiz still got depth .. I like what im seeing coming from "Lopez & Zingis & Melo" lineup the first half, playing with winning-hustle to come from behind to take a 5 pt lead at half time
 
Nice come back late in the 2nd qtr. coming back from 7 down and finishing the game up 60-55. Different set of heroes this game DWilliams and Calderon playing well and O'Quinn just having a meh game. Calderon just won't go away, if he keeps hitting those 3s he'll probably start much to the chagrin of Knicks fans everywhere.

Lopez is making his brother ex-teammate Humphries look bad
 
Zinger needs to work on that post game, a baby hook for a guy his size should be deadly when you're right under the basket. The guy is the goods with his 3 and that baseline jumper.

On the other hand you have to be happy with the offense. Last year they never got to the line, this game they've gone to the line more than the Wiz. The 3 pt shooting looks like it maybe much better with Sasha, Zinger and Calderon. And Melo without a doubt is back.

Lopez is going to give you 8/8 for his 13M.

Yes I liked Ndour but it was the summer league. I think he signed for 1,400,000.
I think Williams will be very good. He's in right now and is just fine. 92 Knicks 89 Wizards.
 
O'Quinn is lookin well playin hard for the starting 4 spot .. two more preseason games like this he got my vote
 
Derrick Williams continues to take advantage of good team passing and now has 20 points on the night. Both Williams and O'Quinn seem to be benefitting from playing with Galloway and Grant.
