I understand the bolded part thats not my argument, point is sign and trade IS possible just not likely to happen

The same way it's possible to trade Melo/Stat/Chandler for a bunch of Vet Min benchplayers. It IS possible. </br> </br> Anyway, it's NOT possible under the OP's scenario. Can't match and then Sign-and-trade him when he gets a large offer instead of letting him go. The OP said the solution was "three words" "sign and trade," even though it was NOT possible under his scenario.
