Official Trade Rumors Thread

Rondo never wanted to play here because of the triangle, with PJ gone it's less of an issue. I like the idea, he'll be cheaper than Hill, Holiday, Teague and DRose I would think and his last 2 contracts were short term deals so I think he's "gettable" unlike a Kyle Lowry. Rondo, CLee, Melo, KP, WHG is a competitive line-up imo.

Rondo is probably going to the Pacers, they might overpay to get him

Utah Jazz doesn't want to lose GH. This move is a move to make their star happy... he won't leave and turn down 50 mil... but used his leverage to ensure his team improved

Maybe, the rumors suggest he wanted them to re-up George Hill who may end up in San Antonio.

NYK don't need a vet.... Baker, Randle, Ntikilina is fine by me. More Ls the better.... see if these kids sink or swim.

Though interest was mutual, a reunion between PG Derrick Rose and the Knicks doesn't appear likely, per NY Daily News' Stefan Bondy.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek deflected the question of Rose returning to New York this season.

"That's management," Hornacek said. "I haven't been in any of the discussions with free agency stuff. So they kind of control that and look at the roster and figure it out."

Rose, whose first season as a Knick was cut short in April due to a season-ending meniscus tear, previously expressed interest in returning to New York. Team president Phil Jackson said at the end of the season that Rose surprised the team with his desire to play for the Knicks despite the team's losing season.

The Knicks have discussed various options at point goard, according to ESPN, but the team does not want to spend significant amounts of money for free agents.

In 64 games for the Knicks, Rose averaged 18 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.8 rebounds.

Rose was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2009 and is a three-time all-star. He was the NBA MVP in 2011, but has been plauged by injuries since then, including a torn ACL in 2012 and multiple meniscus injuries in the years that followed.

"When you talk to a guy, see what they?re looking for besides the money part of it, it?s got to feel good for them," Hornacek said about reaching out to free agents. "Can we promise we?re going to build an NBA championship next year? Guys know we?re in the growing stages right here. Guys, when they come in and take the meeting, they know that.?

We're in a tougher situation then a lot of people might not realize now. The no-trade clause for Melo was a bad move. Now that Phil is gone, Melo and the TEAM might actually play a lot better, and might make the Playoffs. That's not rebuilding. So you have to take things into consideration. If there seems to be nothing for Melo in the foreseeable future, do you sign Rose and go all in for the Playoffs? Because let's say the Knicks with Melo and Porzingis are clicking and they make the Playoffs, but don't have a veteran PG? Then we go lower in the draft and who knows what our chances are in the Playoffs. If we sign Rose and the team is clicking, our pick goes lower in the draft, but we have a better chance in the Playoffs and gives our younger guys a better experience possibly. They'd post-pone the rebuilding though, but we do have a few younger guys to develop regardless.

The no-trade clause is the key here.

If I were Thibs, I'd get JT over DRose. The move to trade Rubio after trading Dunn tells you Thibs has a plan for someone, Tyus Jones is the only PG left.

Teague commits to sign with the TWolves. Now you know why Rubio is gone, thats an attractive roster the Wolves have over there so it doesn't surprise me they attracting guys that want to play there.

I also thought of the "gettable" aspect.

I'm all for Rondo. I want somebody who's a team player and a great passer.

Paul George has been traded to the Pacers in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.
Well, the days of saying Russell Westbrook has no help are officially over. We'll see what Westbrook can do to try and keep PG-13 in OKC, but most signs from earlier this month suggest it'll be a tall order to get George away from the Lakers next year. For the 2017-18 season, George makes a lot of sense next to Westy. PG was actually awesome as a catch-and-shoot guy, posting a 59.9 effective field goal percentage, so Westbrook should be looking to hit him a lot along the 3-point line. George does lose some fantasy value because Westy's super vortex of sucking in usage rate should hurt, but PG should still have early-round value.
