Official Trade Rumors Thread

That trade sounds ultra hypothetical no legs at all.

Consistent with Begley has been reporting, Cavs more than likely will seek rebuilding assets

Wait, Cavs want Frank Ntilikina? I knew he was the steal of the draft! Star-fetching trade value! You guys and your DSJ. You don't see anyone willing to trade star players for DSJ, do you? Get on the banana boat, Frank.

Never forget Melo has a NTC and if Kyrie is bolting because the hand writing is on the wall, I'm sure Melo in close circles knows what it means too. I can see Melo being difficult here and once again making this a very ugly situation. I don't think he waives his NTC for Cleveland. Lebron James going stealth says a lot. Make sense why he made the comments a week ago and why Kyrie made the statement he did just a few days ago. They both know or have vibes of what's to come down the road.

C'mon, Melo blocks a trade to Cleveland and what, goes back to being tortured by our refusal to trade him to Houston? I think he'd take Cleveland with Lebron at this point just to get on with his life.

i dont understand why the hell he wants to come to the knicks. i mean, i know KP and baby gasol seem like fun guys to play with and all, but... seriously? he actually wants to come to the knicks? obviously it's the pessimistic knicks fan in me speaking lol, but i find that very hard to believe for some reason. i mean, i know he's a jersey guy and all, but... why wouldn't he just wait until he's like 38 lmao?
i smell a rat. i smell another heartbreaker tease just like lebron pulled on us back during 'the decision'. i'll believe it when i see it.

It's what I originally thought would be the cost: Melo, Frenchie, future 1st rounder (and maybe we get them to take LEE). Melo would go to CLE for 1 season, then exercise ETO and bolt to LAK with LJ. Still, would be typical Melo... we have a trade for Irving but Melo wont waive NTC now.

Melo would do it b/c he would be assured a Finals appearance. I imagine Rose would join them too.

He's from the area (NJ). He'll be the man and control the rock and offense runs through him, and he gets to play in a big city. Stays in the East. And KP/WHG/THjr are all 25 and under.

It is suspicious, but Kyrie is originally from Jersey, so, who knows.

i think i just heard like 100,000 people drop a brick that had something written on it along the lines of 'let's just go full on tank this year for a top lottery pick' hahahaha. :teeth:

Possibly but what if Cleveland was distant 2nd with Kyrie factored in? According to Isola who has been on point with Melo this summer, this is exactly what he may do

Exactly why I've always hated him. I'd do whatever trade gets him off this team the only problem is it will cost some future and we won't properly rebuild again.

yeah, those are all good points. but still.....
okay let me be the first to predict that IF this happens and uncle drew comes to the new, first game of the official NBA season will be knicks vs. cavs on TNT.

I doubt it happens. As a long-suffering NYK fan... we know what'll go down. Perry and new CLE GM will work out a great deal for all teams involved... then Melo will veto deal.

Fine, then his reward is playing another season for us. Maybe we'll send him to the G League for some seasoning. Maybe we hire back PJ as a personal guru for Melo. If we have a chance to get Kyrie and Melo blocks playing with Lebron, after all the talking those guys have done, so help me.

Any chance HOU wants Ryan Anderson and HOU 2020 1st, along with 2018 NYK 1st and Frenchie?

Melo to HOU
Ryno and assets to CLE
Irving to NY

Cavs, if rebuilding is the focus, would get 3 first rounders plus Ntikilina.

there's plenty of things melo would do, but he wouldn't dare do THAT. he knows he will be hated by everyone and hear nothing but boos every single home game if he blocks something like this.
no way.

Another reference to Phx being involved expands the rumor

So Knits and multiple picks here...and if the talks progress more picks will be involved to compensate 2 teams. Rebuild completely shot, not for Phx though if they can make it happen

...that's not crazy..,if you're Cleveland and you already know it's a foregone conclusion that Lebron leaves next year.

I put nothing past selfish Melo and every since he stated he would be open to be traded there has never been any repeat confirmation he'd be interested in going to Cleveland. It's consistently been Houston and once again I believe there are a couple reasons why. I don't think Cleveland is remotely an option at this point until Lebron publicly commits to the franchise.

I think Cleveland was used to motivate the Rockets to get something done, same way he allowed the Nets to be used to get us to get something done. The only difference Morey isn't a dummy like Dolan.

Man this is crazy. Boy am I glad the Knicks decided to hold off on that trade. What makes this a possibly of Irving legitimately wanting to play for the Knicks is he would for sure by the biggest star on this team to start the season and would lead them on offense. I don't know if being from Jersey matters, but him being the biggest star, and definitely getting noticed more in New York, makes this not out of the realm of possibility barring Melo not waiving his NTC.
