Amare may be a beast himself on the offensive side of the ball, he's the real reason for NY's turn around, but lets not forget; Melo has spoke about playing for the Knicks dating back to his Syracuse days, way before Knick fans could ever dream of Amare. MSG, the bright lights of Manhattan, the die hard fans of New York, the history of the Knicks... His home...etc, etc. Amare wasn't the only reason why Carmelo came to the Knicks. But he was a huge reason why. I'm sure D-Williams, CP3 or Howard would all love the thought of playing with Melo in NY (even if Amare were out of the picture) during 2012's free agency. Melo is a superstar in his own right. That will never change. I'm not sure why Knicks fans are trying to spin this as a "batman vs robin" situation, when it's not. This is the most star power NY has had in 38-39 years since the days of Walt & Reed. Ewing & Starks or even Ewing & Oakley were batman & robin. Carmelo Anthony & Amare Stoudemire are two elite superstars & it's as simple as that.

I love what Amare has done for our franchise, I love that the Knicks are quote on quote relevant again. Amare changed the culture of the Knicks state of mind. The dude came in, stepped up, became a leader, put the Knicks in playoff contention by himself for the most part, put his name amongst the talks of MVP after setting an all time Knicks franchise record for most consecutive games with 30+ points etc, etc. Dude is a superstar & I now consider Amare a top 10 player. But I've also dreamed of Carmelo since his freshman year @ Syracuse. He's always been a top 5 NBA talent in my eyes. He's a New Yorker who never kicked the Knicks when we were down. Easy to root for & love as a Knicks player. I'll never take any star power away from Carmelo, all because Amare was a free agent a year before Carmelo had his chance to sign with NY. I'll always respect Amare as the player who changed our culture, but I'll always appreciate the fact that Carmelo never became LeBron Pt.2 & hurt Knick dreams for years to come.

No questions asked- Amare. He's the one who brought Knicks basketball back to life and is the centerpiece of our team.

I was a bit worried when 'Melo joined us that he would then take over and be the face of our team, when I believe that STAT was the one that deserves this. He had the guts and the balls to join us when no one else did.

The poll does not lie

Jeffries is far and away the MVP of our team.

No man can do what he does. His versatlie skillset allows him to guard all 5 positions. Shit if you would make the All Defensive Team right now, just make it Jeffries Jeffries Jeffries Jeffries Jeffries. Same for All NBA 1st team.

Let's clone Jeffries 23 times and have A Jared Jeffries All Star Game.

:teeth:

Wouldn't that be hilarious? The end score of the all-star game would be 8-4 with each team dribbling off of their feet, shooting about about 4% with turnovers left and right and neither team would be able to hit a layup or rebound the misses. I would pay to see that game. :barf:

I know Amare came here first and everything and I luv him for that. But the more I watch Melo, his smoothness, dominance and effortless ease w which he does his thing offensively, the more i lean towards the feeling that he is really the ONE.

STAT gave us the superSTART, but Melo is our superstar..

mELO grows on me w each game. :gony:
