He still might be moved. Contracts don't come off the Knicks books until June 30 so a lot of deals couldn't get done because we don't go way under the cap until then, maybe we have a handshake agreement with a team to pick him up for them and we get a large contract back when we have the cap space next month. We can't trade Zingis for 60 days I believe so things may unfold with a trade involving him.

That is why we didn't trade with PHO... Kaminsky, Lyles, Winslow, WCS all gone before 13. Philly screwed us, but the obvious choice was Prizingis or Mudiay. Winslow and Hezonja are nice, but you don't go wing player when a Page or a 7 footer are there, with all things equal. I equally and absolutely both love and hate the selection.

Phil Jackson praising a kid because he's a 3 pt. shooter rather for his post up ability and inside scoring?? Now I've heard it all, I think he's lost it.

Unless this kid goes in a trade WTF is he doing, this kid averaged 3.5 rbs in 21 mins and had a 3:1 turnover/assist ratio for Savila last year so how does he solve the Knicks rebounding problems and be the passer in the pinch post that the triangle needs. I have no problem with the Knicks taking him but he's not going to help the Knicks win now.

I agree. If Phil wasn't going to take someone with a post presence (can't be helped since none of them were on the board) then he should've taken one of the many talented guards in this draft. Mudiay, Hezonja, and Cauley-Stein were all on the board and all three of those guys would've been better than Porzingis
 



This is not what you want a #4 pick to say, this is what scary about drafting someone like him. We need someone that had an attitude like Hezonja who recently said he could beat Kobe 1-on-1(even if false).
 
Is Porzingis even going to be in the NBA next year? Or is he going to stay in Europe to get stronger?

And why, for the love of Almighty God, do the Knicks never draft guards? They haven't had a good guard in 20 years and somehow they're ****ing allergic to drafting guards who can do anything?
 
Phil redeemed himself somewhat...love this pick and trade. I spoke of it pages back in this thread. Will create separate thread

 
Thanks to everyone for the play by play of the draft so far. I am ecstatic about Porzingis, but I'm not going to try to defend the pick now. I understand why people are pissed.
