The 2016 NBA Draft

What??? Celtics go for Jaylen Brown, SF from California. I don't like this pick for Boston at all. Maybe a trade is in the works.

Boston liked Butler/Hayward/Middleton more than trading the pick for parts and more picks. Since he struck out there he swung for the fence with Brown because he fit the mold of the guys he wanted to trade for most.

Yeah, that's makes sense. In my eyes, Brown is yet another swingman who will be a plus defender and not a good shooter but I get that they didn't want to draft Dunn just to make a trade and didn't want to wait potentially a year or two for Bender to develop.

Denver gotta very good pick with Murray

I feel like this draft fell right into the laps of Minny, New Orleans, and Denver. By Boston going off script with Brown and Phoenix taking Bender, Minny gets Dunn, New Orleans gets Hield, and Denver gets Murray. All safe picks that will be good fits with huge upside in my mind.

Bucks may end up with the once in a generation player...He was the most intrguing player from this draft. I thought he may end up slipping to Nuggets. I said slip because i was that high on him

Well, after all that, the pick we gifted the Raptors for Bargnani turns into Jakob Poeltl. He probably projects as a good backup center in the NBA. It was still a terrible, terrible trade, but I'm not going to lose sleep over Toronto getting Poeltl when this could have led to them getting one of several other already taken players who are more clearly major franchise impact players.

Well well well

Supposedly Simmons has a promise with Sixers and Heild has a promise with Lakers. Ingram could slip and he was a player I envisioned could. Guys like Jaylon Brown, Dragon Bender, Kris Dunn could go 3-5 easily in any order. Ingram's slight of build is a bit concerning in some circles.

Thon Maker is a hell of a pick there. Gutsy pick to take him at 10, but given who else is available, not sure they passed on anyone with even close to the same ceiling.

Damontas Sabonis goes to Magic at 11. Sure, why not. Kid should give them some serious toughness down low.

They ended up selecting him...crazy how it worked out. Although Bulls still discussing swapping Butler for him

Cool to have draft prospects working with the talent already on the roster. Towns is probably gonna be one of those great players. Possibly one of those throwback types who has a pure love for the game. Of course this video is of Dunn(we needed a talent like him so bad)

If Bulls are going full blown rebuild, I like the Butler for Dunn trade. But wow, trading away both Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose in the same week would be a hell of a fast roster turnover.

There are gonna be some surprises from this draft manifesting itself on the court. Great to see Daddy Sabonis there with his boy, great great great stuff.

So, unless the trade gets blocked, Atlanta turns Jeff Teague into Utah's 12 pick, which is Taurean Prince, SF from Baylor. Don't love it.
