Ya I listen to Jeru and Gangstar mainly for Dj Premier.

At this point i don't even listen to lyrics anymore, i just check out beats from producers. My friends from home rap, and are opening for KRS-One in New Haven. Seeing how most of their rhymes are funny but pretty stupid in the grand scheme of things i just don't care anymore. To me it's not that hard to rap and be entertaining, but very hard to write meaningful music. Most of the lyrics came from when we were smoking in a cypher. I'm assuming big time cats do the exact same thing. If you can write music while having smoke sessions, it is barely work....And if you put a club track to it, most likely you can get a lot of money off of it. I can see why artists don't care.

I'm more into bboying now.

^^^^^ ill gangstar joint

saw ice-t on late night yesterday. saying he's starting his own rap label and gonna "save hip-hop music". I hope other old-school emcees follow that path.

classic shit...

Nas PERFORMED ON ALL THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?:peace:

How the hell could i miss that, i used to love that show back in the day.

Stupid Nick, now giving garbage shows.

Thats a pretty amazing remix right there

I have officialy listened to every single song offa Illmatic. Simply flawless. Im currently diggin the song "Rule" by Nas. Its not on Illmatic, it IWW. I think its on Stillmatic or God's Son.

yea, wu-tang is greatness. not only do they have great lyrics but they also have unique styles that make their songs even greater.

Yeah, i like to listen to alot of them single though. Ghostface has some nice stuff, so does RZA. I love U_Gods verse on triumph though.

Anyone listen to 80s Rap. Like Fresh Prince, Whodini, DMC, stuff like that?

I FINALLY Listened to reasonable doubt. Sweet album, def Jigga's best work.

fav track

The songs are circa 1995. He was part of Wu-tang. Its a shame what happened to him, though.

Jay's first album is very close to perfection. My fave on that is "regrets."

StreetDreams Fav 10
(This is my favorites, not who i think is GOAT)

1. Nas
2. Common
3. Talib Kweli
4. big L
5. Jay-z (1994-2001)
6. Wu-Tang
7. Notorious Big
8. Mos Def
9. Big Pun/Terror Squad
10. 2pac

Metro and Sly, i think big pun is top 10. However he's around the bottom of that list, maybe #9 or #8.
