This Is Why Amar'e Is Better Than D-lee Folks!

Three cheers for the NY Knicks. Their first 5-game winning streak in 5 years!

First there were the cheap sneakers Marbury put his name behind, then there was the time Eddy Curry forgot to bring his sneakers to training camp, but now we have this: The sneaker shot heard 'round the world.

Ever since Amar'e threw his sneakers at the water coolers, went into a tirade and called out his teammates.... The Knicks are 5-1. Winning 3 games out West and taking back-2-back games from CHA!

How huge is this win? Knicks now own the tiebreaker against CHA. That means they must finish at least 1 game better than us for the 8th spot. One team done!

SO, reason number one we went with Amar'e over David Lee... Well, it's all in the name. STAT is the type of player that lures a Carmelo or a Paul. More importantly, STAT is a LEADER. Type A personality. He demand-commands respect.

Did David Lee ever throw a shoe? Heck, did he ever even rip a shoelace in disgust?

We all love and respect Lee; but STAT is the better all-around player. Knicks won the game tonight b/c STAT had a tremendous block. Any doubt that S-Jax slams that home on Lee?

STAT then drained 2 free throws, and finally (although out of control) spun around in the lane and found Fields. GAME OVER.

Players are buying into winning; and it all begand when STAT willed this season around, not allowing his team to accept losing.

Who would guess after 16 games.... Knicks would be 8-8 and MIA potentialy 8-7.... Who would guess NY would trail MIA by a mere half game!

Mafra..... its not about "Amare vs D.Lee", same as it wasnt about "Zach vs D.Lee".

It is about trading future draft picks to get cap-space to add 2-Max players
or at least 2-All-Star players to the Knick roster in the 2010 offseason.
Having no cap-space next offseason, b/c we added a cheap center (Earl Barron)
into a rotation with F/C-Amare, F/C-D.Lee, SF-Gallo, F/G-Chandler, F/G-Fields,
PG-Douglas, PG-Felton, SG-Walker, SF-Ewing Jr., and other minimum wage
players to start the rebuilding of a .500+ Knick team in the 2010-11 season.
Little have been said or done about raising the trade value of Eddy
Curry during this 2010-11 season to trade his expiring contract by the
February dead line.

I think Pau is better than Amare, but not by much. It's one of those 1 & 1a deals..

Pau, Dirk would be his competiton for guys you'd want right now -- and going forward as a franchise. Pau is playing C out of necessity more than anything else. And that he is versatile. Same for Duncan.

And for just right now players (like THIS season), vs Amare...add in Duncan to the mix. I guess he's just a C now...Eh, it can be such an interchangeable position. Even STAT has an allstar selection as a 5.

Griffin for guys going forward. Damn, that ugly beast is a BEAST. Imagine how good when he gets a full year....

Bosh gets a lotta shit, but he is there, too, IMHO. Even tho he is pitted for us Knicks vs Amare's career due to Offseason 2010 implication. And he gets a rep for being soft.

(Pau also got the same rep, and had it for longer, though. Now he is considered a hardass winner who plays D).

Amare can be better than them all, though, and he looks better as Knick than them all. STAT = Lawrence Taylor of NBA PF's in game breaking potential and ability.

I hate to say it but Pau, Duncan, and Garknee injury are all still better then Stat. Nowitzki is even with Amare in my opinion, but the other 3 players i mentioned are better team and man to man defenders. Gasol is better then all them, hes a fukkin beast. I think hes the MVP of the NBA so far. Garnett is healthy again, hes playing great defense and hes been rebounding and scoring well but its just a matter of time before hes out with another knee injury. Duncan is just nasty. Bosh is a step below Stat/Nowitzki. hes like a white version of Dirk

Pau Gasol has been the Top-1 PF the past two seasons, and with
Lakers 13-3 record Gasol is on his way to holding the title for 3 seasons
in a row (ex-Knick PF-Phil Jackson has alot to do with Gasol's excell as a
bigman).

Tim Duncan has been getting wiser/witter with old age slipping from
number 1 to #2 the past few seasons as the NBA top PF.

KG came into the NBA as one of the TOP-3 PF after his rookie season,
and has not lost that Top-3 PF position yet with a 12-4 record Celtics team.

As for the top-10 (best) PF in the NBA 3 has already been counted as the
TOP-3 in the NBA (will be starters in the 2010 ALL-STAR Game).

The other 7- PF in the top-10 are all equally runners up with each other
having differ top skills does not make one better than the other:
Amare, Lee, Dirk, Horford, Bosh, Zach, Love, West, Aldridge, and rookie
Blake Griffin are 10 consistent (PF) this season making a big contribute to
their team as runners up for the TOP-10 PF in the NBA.
Boozer may jump into this chase when return from injury.
David Lee return from injury may catapult his 1-7 GSW team without him
in their last 8 games, into a 5-3 record their next 8 games.

Its sad to mention

To some of my Knick-Fan Friends & Kiya-Haters who been only concern about
the Knicks small-ball (Guards & SF) to disreguard the Knicks 2005 draft class
of our 3 first round picks Frye/Lee/Nate. u missed out on ........

Coach Larry Brown playing David Lee at SF for 8 straight games to win 6
straight out of the 8 with a starting lineup of Curry, Davis, Lee, Marbury,
and Nate.

The next season (2006) coach Isiah Thomas was force to put David Lee in the
starting lineup at PF to provide defensive-rebounding with C-Eddy Curry.

In the following season (2007) with president/coach Isiah Thomas big
media attack of having "C-Curry & PF-Zach" with both players fighting each
other on offense to be the low post presence with no effort at all on running
back on defense, it became apparent by midseason the David Lee & Curry
tandem worked well together, and the David Lee & Zach tandem worked well
together. The No-Defense was preserved for only Curry & Zach.
David Lee hard hustle in creating steals, grabbing defensive-rebounds, making
great passes, and scoring off the ball was only looked at as a well rounded
player by some Knick-Fans.

The next season (2008) coach Dantoni put David Lee into the starting lineup
as the center, C-Lee & PF-Zach, and then C-Lee & F-Harrington.
For two seasons under coach Dantoni (the departure of Zach Randolph
after 11 games), David Lee was not given a bigman rebounder in the rotation
with him untill Lee's last seven games as a Knick, which was a D.League
product Earl Barron.
The Knicks depended on David Lee to do "ALL" the bigmen work by himself
for 48 mpg for two seasons in a row. Lee did not have the luxury of having
a 10 mpg Mozgov, or a 12 mpg AR, or a 28 mpg Turiaf in the paint to help
him. And some Knick-fans are actually comparing Amare above David Lee.
Give David Lee a full time PG-Felton, PG-Douglas, SG-Fields, SG-Walker, SF-
Chandler, SF-Gallo, PF-Turiaf, PF-AR, and a 10 minute center Mozgov.
Lee wouldve been taught Felton & Douglas several pick n roll plays for him.
Lee was apart of -7 man rotation for 2 seasons on a role-player team, if that
dont explain a coaches Tanking seasons to make the team look terrible then......

To not notice all the adjustment David Lee had to make each season to get
decent playingtime on the Knicks to become the hard working effort player on
the roster on and off the court, plus the Knicks best high IQ overall
complimentary player, and not wonder why the next NBA team felt
paying David Lee $80M for 6 years was a great franchise move, and the lost
of 3 players meant nothing when compared to David Lee overall Performance.

Kiya, I don't disagree with any of the above. I'm more on the side of people who over-estimates Lee, vs under-estimates Lee's contribution and what he battled through to become what he did (80M/6 to a team that gave up players to have the luxury to pay him that).

But what are you saying? Lee is superior to Amare for a team to have? For us to have right now?

You can't really think C Amare + PF Lee would work. STAT is on record as saying he doesn't want anything to do with Center duties; and STAT + Lee would be extremely porous for teams to plow through with any quality slasher.

If we kept Lee it would have been to have been like a 6th man. And he wasn't going to take *that* much less $ to stay here, vs 80M. Maybe if we signed him to a long deal before last season....

"No D'antoni should love the offense and movement that STAT + Lee would create, no? Yet even he didn't want anything to do with that....
