Walsh Coach Plan.

Walsh needs to name a coach before the draft lottery on May 20th. Mark Jackson or Rick Carlisle are good picks. If Walsh goes with Scott Skiles, Walsh will have to move Crawford & Curry. Looks like we'll pick 5th unless we get lucky. If we don't land the top pick for Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo's not a bad pick. He could be as good as Brandon Roy.

I wouldn't mind that the Knicks try to get two draft picks this year. I think the Knicks need a fresh start. I'm not go for trying to acquire another veteran thru our pick. My dream draft would be the Knicks getting either the top 1 or 2 in the draft and then trading some of our quality players for a top 5 draft pick. For once let's go young and get rid of players when their contracts expire. I don't really think trading for veterans (like Jermaine O'neal) no matter how proven they are would be a good move for the Knicks. Let's start fresh under this new management. My pick for head coach would be Rick Carlisle. My picks for assistant coaches would be Mark Jackson and Patrick Ewing. Oh yeah and maybe Herb too.

I don't think we have a quality player for a team to give us a top 5 pick. Which team would give up a future player for a player on the knicks roster? I understand what Boston did with Minnesotta last year, but we don't have a player of Garnett's caliber.

Like I said, that would be my "dream" draft. It's not actually totally impossible though. Curry or Randolph with another player could be thought by some teams as equal to or better in value than a top 5 pick especially if they need a big man. But then again all the teams in the bottom 5 seem to be in a rebuilding mode so it is very unlikely for such a trade. I'm just someone who would just really prefer a fresh start. That would be my dream.

I'm all for getting rid of zach if we need to use our draft pick to entice teams. We have a PF to take his place.

I do not think our number one problem is defense. Our number one problem is team work / chemistry. I would want a coach that can solve that with the roster we have. I have no idea if Marc Jackson is the man to do this. Can we afford to take a risk? Then again, I am not sure if there is a coach available to get our current roster to play together. Maybe it is worth giving Marc a chance.
WHAT? THE KNICKS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TEAM WORK AND CHEMISTRY? DO YOU KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD PATIENCE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isiah Thomas has a GREAT eye for TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is SMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just give it TIME!
Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry are gonna help the knicks win a CHAMPIONSHIP! Then we're gonna have a LEGACY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if you're trying to act funny, stupid or you're just a raptors fan. In either cases, a future post similar to these, will bench you next to the other clowns from last week.

Thank you Rady, he/she isn't the only one on this forum that is making memberships, and then posting nonsense. or maybe its the same person.

Isiah is a great basketball mind. Just be patient. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. I've been a Knicks fan for 10 years. I know a great mind when I see it. It's like watering a plant. It takes patience. It's like when God created the earth. He didn't take 1 second to create the earth. He took 6 days, and on the seventh day he rested.

Later for Walsh's 5 year Plan under a 3 year contract (Planning for an extension contract his first week on the job).
He is only wanted here for the Firing of Isiah and the clowns Isiah brang to New York.

The Knicks only need to make a 5 move plan this offseason to get their future underway for some decent entertainment at MSG.

1) Isiah and his punk coaching staff have to be eliminated and deleted from the Knick organization as soon as the regular season ends. No meeting or talking to any of them.

2)
The hiring of a new Head Coach and coaching staff that are all on the same page "Defense-First".

3) Whomever the Knicks pick in the draft it should not interfere with the playingtime of "Balkman, Chandler, Lee, Nate, Collins, and Morris", nextseason whom have the talent and skillz to be great chemistry hustling defensive role-players that score off of their hustle & defense.
The Knicks owe the above young players some effecient steady playingtime next season inwhich they should've received this season, but their playingtime was given to Bum Pet players that doesn't coexist with teammates like Zach, Jefferies, Jones, Crawford, and Q.Richardson.

4)
Players that must not be on the roster next season are:

A) Zach
B) Q.Richardson
C) Jefferies
D) Jones
E) James
In the above order start the trading on draft night.

5)
The above players must be traded for some decent Frontcourt players and a decent big peremeter SG like "D-League Demetris Nichols", Childress, Jason Richardson, Martel Webster, Pavlovic, and bigmen like Brand, Kaman, K-Mart, Varejao, J.O'Neal, just as long as the bigman and SG has a decent performance on offense/defense and do not let lazy teammates like "Marbury, Crawford, and Curry" stunt their perfomance by not playing defense.
A decent Knick trade is Varejao & Pavlovic for Zach Randolph. This way Cleveland have two big bodies in the paint Zach & Ben to go along with Big Z.

You're a hater. Fred Jones played well this season, and he doesn't even make that much money. He plays defense, he can drive to the basket, and he can shoot 3 pointers and free throws. What more do you want from him? And why would you want Zach Randolph gone before Curry? Curry hasn't done anything this year other than suck. Say what you want about Zach Randolph, but at least he's been to the playoffs. Curry has never been to the playoffs and he never will, cause he's one dimensional and overweight.

Man that was a little harsh. I think 3. something million is a lot of money for something that you do as a hobby and for fun, I think the money these players are making is ridiculous.. PLus Fred Jones isn't a player that will change a team. He is a bench player./role player.

i like jones, agreed ABCD

Next season, keep waiting
This is a good post, although I don't agree with it all. From a fiscal point of view I would want Randolph gone because of his high contract. From a practical stand point it would be Curry to go first. Although Randolph has a high salary he's much more productive than Curry and trust, we are not losing because Zach posts a double double each game. Jones I can live with out but he doesn't make much money and he's not apart of the problem. Our biggest problem is the coaching staff, our second biggest problem is interior defense, and third is we don't have a play maker. We need a few small trades for defensive specialists, and of course, preferably, a new point guard.

Curry makes less than Randolph, and he sucks worse too. i'm not really sure who has more value tho. i'm thinking Curry cuz he doesn't cost as much, and honestly there aren't that many great centers in the league. At the very least Curry sometimes knows how to dominate on offense.

Also i think we should draft a PG, (or maybe go after TJ Ford), for that reason, we don't need Fred Jones, he's just a log jam at an already crowded spot.

I see your reasoning, but I don't think I'm being harsh. Fred Jones is one of the few players on the Knicks that actually has defense. I would not get rid of Jones, unless I know for sure that he is going to be replaced by someone that can defend as well as he can. I think we both can agree that Fred Jones has outplayed Quentin Richardson, Jerome James, Malik Rose, Jared Jeffries, Eddy Curry, Randolph Morris, and Mardy Collins, this season.

Walsh compares Isiah to Doc Rivers

Walsh asks people to remember that it was an unpopular move to bring back Doc Rivers last year as coach. When asked about how it would be impossible to bring back Isiah

First off, I know that he is just trying not to come straight out and say that he going to fire Isiah, so he pretending to leave the door open for bringing him back. However this is the type of comments that will turn fans against you quick. First off New York fans know that there is a major difference between Isiah Thomas and Doc. Doc only coached a miserable team in 06-07, the 07-08 Isiah coached a miserable team, was found guilty of sexual harrassment, had public fights with players, and paired to players that no one in the league thought would work. The Celtics also got Two All Stars added to their team, which bought Doc some more time to make it work.

Look Donnie comments like that can slide in Indy, but NY fans do our homework, we know what is what. Just simply say "I have not finalized my decsion yet" when talking about if you are going to fire Isiah. Because comments like that one, make it sound like you are dumb enough to consider bringing Isiah back as coach, and two, that you don't think NY fans are smart.

But that is not to say that I don't like Donnie Walsh, but he needs to be careful with his words, even if he just trying to be fair to the man he is about to fire!

Head Coach: Rick Carlisle
Assistant: Mark Jackson
Assistant: Patrick Ewing
Draft: Derrrick Rose
Trade: Zach Randolph

My dream list of things to happen this offseason.

We aren't going to get Derrick Rose and I'm not so sure he or any of the other PGs in the draft are ready to lead an NBA team anyway.

If we get Ewing as an assitant, then it makes some sense to keep Curry, trade Zack and lay down the law. Curry has to either get down to 265-270 and work at both ends or he is gone. If anyone can teach him to play some defense or at least get the best out of him, it's Ewing. Zach is the better player, but he has a worse contract, is more of a risk to be a disruption, and I believe it will be easier to find someone to play PF (or simply give the starting job to Lee) than to find a good center.

I don't know who should be the head coach, but the defense oriented assistant from the Celtics sounds like it could be a great idea considering defense is our #1 flaw. Mark Jackson would be fine as an assistant, but I'm not sold on turning the team over to guy without more experience. Carlisle would be fine.
