Wsup? Who's ready for Training-Camp?

yeah, only caught the last 20-25 minutes of the scrimmage, but frankie looked pretty good. a couple of nice drives to the basket, i saw some nice passing from him. WHG and kanter out there together looked pretty good too.

Poor Kyle O'Quinn. No matter how hard he plays and how effective the outcome, I'm sure he is in for another season of DNPs mixed in with games where he doesn't get to play until the 4th quarter. We should just trade him already.

If he got the hype KP and even the attention WHG gets, people would be noticing him a lot more. I know O'Quinn is good, but even I forget to mention him of a player of the future. Marketing is a crazy thing. O'Quinn may be as athletic as someone in their late 30s, but he's only 27. He should be a part of our future. He put the work in on his body last season. He puts the work in on the court.

I think I'll take the under on the predicted 30.5 wins. Kentucky could beat this team;seriously 😱😱😱

kentucky could not beat this team, let's not get ridiculous now. either one of lee, kyle or kanter could probably single-handedly take over that game and dismantle a college team, including kentucky. c'mon now.

O'Quinn should have been our starter PF the past two seasons .. oops i said that two seasons ok, because Quinn's performance remind me of Charles Oakley .. recall the MJ/Pippin Bulls couldn't get pass the 2nd round using Oakley as their center.

Just finished watching the live scrimmage game. Frank Nitty looks great! Plays under control. Moves the ball. Has the skill to drive and finish when he sees an opening. Makes a concerted effort to get the ball into the post. Kid would have had 10 ast if guys would have made the open looks he setup. His defense was solid but he still is adjusting to the quickness and strength of nba players. It was clear as day that Nitty looked pretty damned good for a NINETEEN year old. Of course this isn't a real game. But we're looking for evidence of the kid being able to think the game and he clearly showed he understood what he needed to do. It's just the beginning of the process of development for this kid but he looked ahead of schedule to me. He stood out, which was noteworthy in a situation like that. He was making plays for others but also scoring for himself. No hesitation was evident. Remember how lost other young PG's we've had looked? Nitty showed no signs of that at all.
Frank Nitty is the truth! He made it look effortless too. I'll bet Horn has Frank as our starter.
McBuckets sure can fill it up. THJ was clearly the thoroughbread in uptempo situation, Noah had some bounce to him that he didn't show last year. KP gets a pass, 7'3" never looks good in a scrappy open court scrimmage. Kuz proved that even in a team scrimmage nobody is gonna let him throw it down with that baby face lol. Enes looks like he can still score in the paint with ease.

Nice post Kiya. I'm not going overboard on the individual performances because it was like half a game against your own teammates but I wonder if Horn is starting to define his starters vs. second unit with the lineups in this game. KP, THJ are obvious starters and they played with Frank, Kanter 2 guys that you possibly slot as starters. Frank looked good and Kanter is good enough to start on a bad team after going 20/10 per 36 on a good team for the last 3 years. McDermott also played on that "gray" team 1st unit and he's got some size, interesting if Horn has 1st unit plans for Dougie this season.

Are Knicks fans going to go berserk if Kanter starts over WHG?

Noah should be our starter all season .. and Kanter should be Noah backup n replacement at center.
WHG is in his 2nd season .. there's no way WHG talent should start over O'Quinn's skills n experience.
THJ will be a Knick the next 4 seasons .. i would not put THJ scoring in the starter lineup over Lee's skills n experience the first year of THJ contract .. now the finishing lineup is different when THJ individual-scoring will be valuable (6th-man).
Beasley may not be a lottery pick player, but Beasley experience n athleticism over Lance/Kuz/n McD should be able to mix better alongside KP in the starter lineup.

This up coming season we have a nice young roster with some decent veteran leadership .. I like the talent and mental makeup of the team. My biggest expectation is on our coaching-staff to get players on the same-page .. This season is about developing the young core and then continuing to add pieces via draft/trade/free agency. The circus seems to be over so now we can focus solely on basketball.

In the upcoming season there's no reason we should put favoritism-players or outrageous over-paid salary players in the starting/finishing lineup because it never brang the Knicks a success in the past.
The season should be bout building same-page KEEPERS for the future .. putting a end to the Knicks one-year rental player system each season.

We might not see Frank because of a sore groin but we are probably going to see Kanter and Dougie as the starters tonight. Horn will try a few starting lineups in the pre-season but Kanter, KP, Mac, THJ and Frank will be a young starting group.

Ntilikina is not going to play in the preseason opener tonight? I give up. Maybe we drafted him just for practices.

i hope it's not an indicator of his durability, or lack thereof. i doubt it. sore groins aren't uncommon around training camp and pre-season time for some reason.
there's 4 more pre-season games after this one and over 2 weeks to go before the season opener. do not panic. i know we all want to see this kid play in a competitive game, but do not panic.
Panic when it comes time to panic. this is not the time to panic.
maybe i should take some time right here to talk about the tendency for sports fans to panic
now if you're a giants fan, like i am, then i can understand the panic!

Knicks made their first training camp cut in waiving Jamel Artis. Probably headed to Westchester where if he sticks for 60 days he gets 50K.

After watching the first preseason game, i would like to know what type of defense was coach Horn implementing in training camp. There were no Knicks player leadership on the defensive side of the court.
The Knicks roster has a few decent defensive players on the roster that must step-up and become verbal on the court this season. Im not sure what coach Horn was implementing in the scrimmage games but the offense/defense showed in the first Knicks preseason game was the same as last year preseason.
