Official Trade Rumors Thread

Right on top of it my man. I knew the Rockets wanted him and Paul George. Opt in deal, meaning the Rox were where he wanted to be. This has implications for BG and maybe Melo, Clips are breaking up that team and I would be looking to deal DJ as well.

The Clippers will receive Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams and a 2018 1st-round pick. Beverley reportedly was on the trade block before the move.

If you're going to move on this is the way to do it(although slightly suckerish, I believe Rocks knocked Clips out of playoffs before) but at least CP3 gave the Clips a chance to get compensation by opting in. Unlike that jerk Durant who knew he was gone at the beginning of 2 seasons ago leaving OKC high and dry.

I think Blake ends up in OKC, come to think of it...for a similar type of deal

Wow, CP to Houston. Does that make them a threat to GS and SA? Not sure.
Gets the Rox a step closer. Harden goes back to the 2 guard, he had a phenomenal year as a PG but there is no better facilitator then CP3 nor a better defender at PG than him. They could get better if they could move Ryno's 20M year, he's just not worth it.

Paul could've just signed with HOU but instead forced LAC to trade him, draining HOU of valuable assets.

Banana boat chap strikes again.

Main, these fools have been
Awful for NBA huh?

[ESPN] Carmelo Anthony to sign with Rockets if buyout reached

I mentioned the Rox trading Ryno as well, Ryno for Melo I think works.

Rox would need to send out another 5M in salary to make a Ryno/Melo trade work.

The Rox needed to dump salary to get him as a FA, so a trade worked out for both teams. CP3 also gets his 5 year max deal he could have signed for with the Clips

I see there could be parallel with Melo from Denver to Knicks but it's not.

CP3 opted in(must be a clause in the CBA that allows a period of time before options(out-to-in) become official, probably moratorium period?) to a 1yr deal, if he gets hurt he's in trouble financially. He also told his team which team he intends to sign to, not presenting multiple teams to create a bidding S&T war.

And really CP3 with Gordon/Williams/Beverly/Ariza along with Harden is a little much. The Rockets didn't go far with what they had and they played the best ball maybe they could possibly play. It's not like the Rockets were stripped of their team. As far as competitive balance yeah kind of corny but I thought these dudes were corny back in 2010 when everyone was fawning over them.

This isn't CP3s first rodeo of communicating across the league to team up with other players. He tried this with Howard to go play with Dirk back in 2009-2010

Isn't it funny Melo may want to go play in Houston with D'Antoni again and that far away from New York if SAS report is true? Like I said waive this clown. Rockets are trying to land Paul George at the moment

All rumors, NY is not buying out Melo. It would be great for Houston getting Melo there for a vet min deal after the buyout which is another reason not to buy him out or waive him, for what to make Houston the next super team.

I don't want any player on this team, who's heart is elsewhere even in the slightest...just like Dolan's words don't mean much neither do Melo's. I don't care how many times he says he wants to play here. If you put a gun to his head and asked him what team would he want to play for right now if he was a free agent he wouldn't pick the Knicks.

We are not competing with the ELITE teams regardless of Melo's talents/financial ramifications etc etc. I want him off the team for many of the same reasons I wanted Phil gone. Sometimes you have to eat it in the short term to gain in the long term. Rockets are out West anyway. Melo has about 2-3yrs left before he'll be coming off someone's bench and the Knicks should be showing signs of being relevant by then.

NBA really needs to stop with this salary cap nonsense. It's easily circumnavigated anyway.... if salary wasn't an issue, NY could
deal Melo to HOU or CLE and gain something.

The Clippers will trade for Lou Williams as part of the Chris Paul deal.
The Clippers will trade for Patrick Beverley.
Sam Dekker has been traded to the Clippers as part of the Chris Paul deal.
DeAndre Liggins was traded to the Clippers on Wednesday.
The Rockets traded Tim Quarterman to the Clippers on Wednesday.
The Rockets have acquired Ryan Kelly from the Hawks in exchange for cash considerations, and traded him to the Clippers in the Chris Paul deal.
Montrezl Harrell will be traded to the Clippers as part of the Chris Paul deal.

HOLY COW. That's quite the haul for CP3, given he's on a 1 or 2 year deal, no?

I don't think so, 5 yr deal $200M deal if I I read this tweet right, is what he'll sign next year after sacrificing 10M in his opt in year instead of becoming a FA.

Hearing that the straw that broke the camel's back with CP3 before entering free agency is because Doc Rivers didn't want to trade his son Austin for Melo...my Melo feelings aside once again can't run a franchise this way. I got on Phil right out the gate with his Nepotistic ways and his triangle connection crap with the moves he was making. Have to learn to detach oneself when it comes to business. Doc Rivers was most certainly reckless here when it came to his son. I never engaged much when his name came in conversation in various circles. Needless to say probably a move Doc should've made they had a glaring hole at small forward like forever.

With Phil out of the picture and now 2 potential landing spots if Melo is "free" .... I think it's now possible Melo waves his NTC and HOU or CLE finds a way to make a deal.

I'm not hopeful but I think it's possible. Whatever happens tho.... Melo cannot be here come NOV.

Much like how DAL let Nash go and handed team to Dirk.... now is time to hire JVG and Mark Jax to turn this around.... start fresh and rebuild.

Isola reported that Dolan told Melo's camp, and Phil, there was no way he was paying Melo 50 mil to leave.

The message has been sent and the message is clear: if any team wanta melo then they'll have to trade for him. With Phil out of the picture, I imagine something gives.... PHil was keeping Melo from waving NTC and teams probably felt it was tough to communicate with him (to even work on the blueprint of a deal).

JVG as GM/President? We just had a HOF coach that was a disaster as an executive, JVG is not going to happen.

Ujiri is Dolan's choice but Toronto is not letting him go without compensation. Griffin is available now, how about him?

Uijiri isn't coming here, bc tOR already asking for a king's ransom. You want to surrender 2 first rounders?

JVG is different b/c he's now a broadcaster.... he's in touch with today's players and the game. He's a work a holic too. Not sure he even wants it.... but if he did, and he has a vision, then I would listen.

Anyway.... Dolan is all about perception so this would definitely be a move to improve PR.

Anyway.... I think it's time to hire Mark Jax at least. Doesn't he get any credit for developing GSW?

My only question with MJ is why hasn't he landed a job since GS, he's interviewed and come up with nothing. I'm not for hiring him just because he was a Knick.
