Duhon is a pass first PG..is he a star? NO! BUt he does not come with baggage and cause drama in the locker room. In addition you are predicating your question the false assumption that A) Walsh would ever resign MArbury...even for the minimum. B)That a superstar is going to want to play next to an aging ball hog with a major ego problem.

Every team...with out exception has gotten better after they traded Marbury! That is a fact! Is Duhon as skilled as Marbury? Nope. Duhon is a better team player and we need team players surrounding a true superstar and Marbury is not a true superstar.

Marbury may do great for a team that is a PG away from a title but the Knicks don't fall into that category. Marbury, who I wish all the best needs to go to a team that has a dominant allstar that can keep Marbury's ego in check.
 
I would also like to point out how unsuccessful the USA National team has been for the last few years prior to the last Olympics. They were a collection of stars, not a team hence why they lost to inferior talent. This perfectly illustrates what is wrong with Marbury and the Knicks. They have a ton of talent on paper but don't play like a team. Dantoni, ironically who helped USA basketball win gold will apply a team oriented strategy similar to that implemented in the olympics. That is why Marbury is benched for a PG with less individual talent. That is why Marbury has hall of fame stats but won't win a title nor make the HOF.

I do not hate Marbury, I just don't think he is a winner nor capable of being a team leader. If he played along side KG or Kobe he may have success becasue his ego would be brought in check by dominant allstars the demand respect. Sadly the Knicks do not have this player so Marbury needs to ride the bench or be traded for a franchise player.

You might want to call Walsh let him know that you know more about whats good for the Knicks. Maybe he will fire Dantoni and hire you with you superior knowledge of whats best for our team. I'm too lazy to look it upo but am I correct that this is the best start we have had in several years? If so what is the issue with Dantoni's decsion?

stop makin up sh!t, i have no problem with marbury not playin. I do have a problem with him not being bought out, and donnie walsh should had been more straight forward with him from the beginning. It is partially Dantoni's fault, he should have said in the beginning that he wasnt planning on playing marbury.

marbury is faster then duhick, hes a better passer and scorer. I understand that marbury is not part of the teams future plans after this year, and i agree with that. As for this year, either play him or buy him out, its that simple.

exactly....like i said in my other post, d'antoni should have been honest about his plans with marbury from the beginning.

and you could very easily argue we would be off to an even better start with marbury running the point.

He didnt look selfish in the preseason, that was the most passive i ever saw marbury. His court vision is superior to duhorns, he might be averaging 10 assists right now.

But i dont care to get into these debates, you can argue it either way. you cant prove me right or wrong, so its pointless to argue about that.

You are correct...Collins is probably not our future either but he is not part of the troubled past. Marbury is and causes more problems than he solves. Having our PG be scoring leader is not a great thing for developing Chandler and Lee.

Sorry if I am not feeling upset that Marbury's getting 21 million to ride a bench. He is a professional athlete and is receiving his paycheck. He is expected to show up in shape to play if called to do so or be in a tradable condition.

I loved the Marbury trade when it happened and gave him the benifit of the doubt. He squandered any good will with his poor atitude and petty behavior. No amount of $15.00 sneakers he sells is going to change the fact that he is not a team player or a winner.

well its not really his fault he's sitting on the bench if it were his call he'd be scrubing gaurds on the court, but the call is D'Antonis...and he showed up in the best shape of his life unlike Curry who showed up with a bag of big-macs lmao
 
Steph had something to prove this year and still does no matter where he plays and that's he can make a team better. He doesn't have to prove his talent unlike Eddy Curry. If I was Curry, knowing who my new coach would be... I would have been working out like crazy and practicing...even play summer league. But that didn't happen and he's my biggest disappointment because the potential is there as much as I'd hate to admit it.

While I agree it's not his choice it is however a reaction to his actions. He has not been a team player and has caused more headaches for the organization than any other player. Dantoni is about the team, not an individual player. Espn rumors that a buyout may be imminent as long as Marbury does not sign with an Eastern Conference team. I wish him luck wherever he ends up. Contrary to peoples beliefs I don't hate Marbury, I just agree with the direction Dantoni is going.
 
Guys, theres no point in arguing about Marbury. He's basically off the team, so it's not an issue anymore. Originally, I thought he should play. But we're doing pretty well without him, so let's just be happy about that.
