Took him 60gms and several gms under .500 to play them in concert as if by design, instead of pump faking and out of obligation
Not to mention Begley reported there?s a philosophy divide in our front office, particularly at the trade deadline. Some of our execs want to see more of the young talent while there were rumblings should we have surrendered youth to make a move for a playoff push. There?s current talk of who is being valued more in the org between RJ and Randle. Cam was questioned by the press about his lack of playing time before tonight?s game
Thibs offered up during same presser much of our woes lie with the absence of Derrick Rose. Which means if he was healthy 1 if not another young player wouldn?t see the light of day on the court
Burks has played about 400 more minutes than IQ this yr yet has less overall assist totals?him, Gibson, Noel, Rose, Fournier shouldn?t have played as many minutes as they did when they were healthy
Based on active healthy bodies, yeah he has to play them respectable minutes
I can?t watch the games for people. Our young guys don?t earn minutes. Quickley is embarrassing himself out there. Box score makes it look like he did okay. He didn?t. He was bad on both ends by the eye test.
Only young guys who routinely do anything out there are RJ and MRob and Thibs tries to play the hell out of them and then fans get pissed when they get hurt because they?re on the court.
Thibs also played the hell out of rookie Grimes before he got hurt.

Thibs takes an underperforming veteran (Kemba Walker) out of the rotation to open up minutes and he gets killed for it.
Thibs doesn?t take other veterans (Alec Burks and Evan Fournier) out of the rotation and he gets killed for it. He even gets killed by our front office whom signed these two guys to contracts this off-season.
Thibs sticks with RJ and MRob these last 2 years and they both develop. Grimes having a strong rookie year and getting some starts before injury. Thibs gets no credit.
Quickley and Toppin fail to develop in year 2 and Thibs get blamed for it.

Burks and Fournier have stunk the joint up tonight and they are the vets who ?should consistently produce? but they haven?t. Way too many nights they both had gms like tonight, while getting minutes. It?s one thing if one of them had an off night but they made sure they blessed us as a duo courtesy Thibs
Speaking of amateurs I believe there are some sitting at the end of college benches right now who could?ve produced better than those two VETS
The league knows who Burks and Fournier are, what they don?t know is what kind of young talent is on our roster
Our young talent?is it terrible, is it average, is it above average, do we have hidden gems?we really don?t know with some of these players largely cuhz there isn?t enough floor data to clearly define who they are
Thibs played Grimes once D-Rose went down and messed up the rotation and Burks was out?it wasn?t by design. Then when we started having some hiccups he started big upping Grimes who was playing very well might I add?almost as a tool to get some heat off him
What about rumors Knicks and Robinson may be off on numbers with a new contract?
Why do you believe it?s the case Htr10?

This team stinks. It?s almost not worth our time talking about it. We?re at the point where we?re basically debating who is least to blame for this smoking crater of a franchise.
If your question is why do I believe the Knicks and MRob are off on numbers with a new contract, I would assume it?s because our front office is trying to lowball MRob because we?re going to need to offer RJ a 5 year 181 million dollar extension this fall and if all we can do with cap space is bring back this exact team next season, man are we screwed.
MRob?s camp knows his value is high in the open market.
As far as our young talent, it?s RJ > MRob > Grimes and then maybe a bunch of guys who won?t ever be good rotation players in this league.
We?ve been down this road before. Knox, Ntilikina, DSJ, Mudiay, Toure Murray, I?ve lost count. Sometimes guys don?t play more because it?s obvious to experienced coaches that they?re never going to be starters.

They won?t fully invest in MRob? which makes it odd why they didn?t listen to Brock - the man they hired to run the asset department.

KAT & Booker or Mitchell and KAT is their vision?. Bank on it.
Evan and AB shot 3-19 (1-9 downtown) with 4 assists. You cannot win in NBA with this G play. I?ve been saying it for years?
Did I mention that they played 31 & 27 minutes. And they were being defended by a 2nd year guy and an old fart?

Here's two things we are learning bout Thibs ....
Thibs NEED a healthy 30 plus minute veteran starter PG for the regular-season games.
Plus Thibs is not happy having injury-prone PG keep asking to come out the game for rest.
Yes! The Knicks FO had the $money$ in the offseason to deliver Thibs what he needed out of the wide version of top players in the 2021 free agent market (2 healthy starters), but they didn't deliver.
Nor did the injury-PG Knicks FO care to deliver coach Thibs a PG thru trade in the middle of a losing regular season before the Feb. trade deadline, Nor sign the walking FA (Isiiah Thomas) thru Protocols.
Burks & Fournier knew their game was off, after not scoring in the first quarter, but were to afraid to ask Thibs to take them out the game LOL
Another ugly 2nd half performance from the Knicks (46-68) .. You cant win like that!
