Emergency??? Game Thread: Knicks vs Sixers

We had the same coach last year. Replaced Bullock with Fournier. Noel and Rose never play after being huge contributors last year. We replaced Payton with Kemba who decided he didn?t want to play. Quickley can?t shoot this year after a great rookie season. Front office traded for Cam Reddish after being explicitly told he wasn?t what we needed and after not pursuing Norman Powell before last year?s trade deadline, who the coach wanted and is a much better player.

I hope they fire Thibs so it can show everyone that coaching isn?t the main problem here. We have a bottom 10 roster and we are a bottom 10 team.

Other teams? front offices are routinely figuring out ways to bring in elite talent and then how to move those contracts to be able to keep bringing in top level players. Our front office doesn?t do much of anything other than the bare minimum at best.

Front office already setting up to humiliate the fanbase again this off-season.

I stand by my prediction. Next 3 hired head coaches will each last less than 2 seasons and will average under 20 wins a season.

You nor any other fan can highlight anything we do well. Matter of fact add in last season name me 1-3 things we do well as a team? What can you count on every game, you enjoy from this squad. I saw bad signs last yr and clearly outlined what they were. They?ve blown up in our face this yr is all. Only exception to last yr for me I conceded slightly based on results

No player on this team should speak to the press telling the public, players don?t know what to do or what to expect. You mean even after game prep and timeouts you?re still confused?

This team is awful. Front office needs to go before Thibs go. That?s literally all I care about at this point.

If you give me a choice of a Sam Presti or another elite GM plus Thibs vs Our Current Front Office plus literally any coach on earth who would ever take this job, I?m taking the former 100 out of 100 times.

Thibs is easily one of the worst coaches in the NBA right now and I find it comical anyone expects him to get a job after his fake COY award. He's been terrible since his exposure in the playoffs.

No reason to lose hope on future coaches, they may not work out. But Thibs clearly has no connection with his players outside of Rose, Burks, Randle and Gibson. He coaches fake hustle and defense, but has no real schemes against teams who could do whatever they want to us.


Randle is currently the worst big contract in the NBA.

Knicks are crippled by Thib getting more time to coach because of his fugazi COY season and Randle's long contract.

Most of the coaches Knicks had in the past were rentals, which is exactly what Thibs should be. NBA teams go through coaches and that's what it takes to get the right one. Clearly and very clearly we have a bad front office.

Us making the playoffs with Elf at PG just shows how sad the East was outside of MIL/MIA. Nets/Philly both injured...there was no comp and it was the easiest year for any East team to sneak into the playoffs. We did it at a 4 seed,. Talent/skill wise we have a superior roster this year than last year, but 90% of the East upgraded their weapons (Cavs got Mobley + other good guys) (Bulls got Ball/DeRozan) (Heat upgraded with Lowry) I can go on and on. So even if we kept our roster from last season, we would be dead last in the East on the standings.


Maybe we should accept this is who we are, a 12-14th place team in the East. The playoff appearance last season was fake because that was never going to secure us as a good team. We got in clearly only because other teams were missing talent. No other reason.

I see it as Thibs vs Front Office. If our terrible front office gets to scapegoat Thibs, that could buy them 2 or 3 more years of killing this franchise.

Think what you want of Thibs, there is nothing more destructive than a bad front office. Front office needs to go this off-season.

In my heart of hearts, I believe this franchise can figure out a way to get a top end GM like Sam Presti. Throw massive money at him. Trade a 1st round pick for him. Whatever it takes.

Look at what other franchises are doing because they have great, active front offices. Some of those rosters are so good, I could coach them into a conference final.

Sam Presti is the guy. If not him, Masai Ujiri, but he might never come here no matter what Dolan offers. Try to steal Sean Marks from Brooklyn?

Really, you target Sam Presti and work down from there.

I could also list the names of 5 or 10 assistant GMs who?d be worth giving a shot over our current front office, but what?s the point?

how do you explain the successful start of the season? To me, the Knicks do not have a great team, but if we have a good PG we are for sure a much better team, maybe 5th or 6th seed

Nobody is coming because in the end they need Dolan/s runner stamp.
There is no way Phil Jackson wanted to give Melo the no trade clause.
Dark talks a lot about the cancer but it starts and ends with the BOSS which is Dolan.
He will never give anyone the freedom to do what they want.
Bottom line is we are screwed.
Is it just a coincidence that NO Elite player ever wants to come to the Knicks.
We got Melo and traded half our team away instead of waiting for FREE AGENCY because Melo said he wanted it now.
That was a solid team just missing an elite player.

Wouldn?t it have been nice in the Sixer?s game to have a player like D. Cousins. I think the Knicks center scored 2 points. Three center and not one has an offensive game but ally-opps passes.
No offensive meant that Embiid could leave his man because he isn?t going to score.

The Knicks are on a 5 game losing streak, and the last two games the Knicks loss by 15 pts vs Miami & Philly, two top contender teams.
Tonight at 7:30 the Knicks will be in Philly to go up against Harden & Embiid again .. Its a 10 point edge game .. The way the ISO-Knicks been performing u would think tonight game would be 14 points ....
