Game Thread: New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers 7:30 11/5/2017 [Game #9]

Got a feeling ESPN is going to be writing an article some time this season about why that RPM computer model was so way off predicting a 30 win season and they're going to say the computer could not predict KP would be playing at an MVP level.

Anyway, I'm Not rooting for Ls.... and Ls still sting and burn... but I'll
Keep things in perspective and understand IF we do stumble and fall.... it's all good.

Despite wins and losses... seeing the kids play well and gel.... that's all that matters moving fwd

lol Don't forget about Wade. If that happened I'd totally see it. We might even see Melo back sooner than later.

I read from a poster maybe on the Pelicans (my current west team) forum I go to that Rondo has actually been shooting the three well. Not surprised. It seems like he has been shooting well, the few times I've seen him anyway.

What's crazy is during the game I was thinking that if the Knicks lost that game, I wouldn't have been as disappointed as I was in the past. They fought, and fought against an up and coming team. A young team doing what they did, win or lose, makes me excited. And them winning, and the WAY they won, makes me even more excited.
 
I still want 1 more lottery talent so pen me in the minority.

I won't hate on the wins as we're doing it with our young talent but always be reminded whatever our personal opinions were of our young players primarily #kporzee and Knits guess where they came from? That's right the "crap shoot" LOTTERY

If we think they're enough to get us to the promise land then okay but we don't have cap space to land any big fish this summer nor the forseeable when we re-up our own. Trust me, we need 1 more young piece to add to the puzzle
 
knicks need to make a move soon when noah comes back from suspension. i don't think we're getting rid of jack. i smell a trade coming. more picks? a 2 for 1 and maybe yet another 2nd round pick?
who do we trade away and who do we get back? maybe we get someone who can really crank things up a little for a playoff push?
is gaines still working for the knicks as a scout? 'cuz i'll tell you what, i'm kinda trusting that dude right now.
 
I concur. We are 1 lottery piece away.... and I'm really hoping it happens this year b/c there are a few studs....

Could we trade up this draft? Like jump up from 8 to 4? Maybe.

But... I can't root for Ls or for KP and Knits and kids to play poorly. I would prefer a 12-70 season over 36-46... but if kids are too good and we win 44... well, hey...

It's up to Perry to get a steal in drAft or trade.

Will also mean we have to snag a big free agent fish this year or next.

But... hey... if KP is this good and Lebron decides to stay away from West Conf... and comes to NY to play with KP. I'll sign up for that.
 
DEN HC loved KOQ. Said as much after the loss in NY.

Would a WHG or a KOQ for Mudiay be plausible?

I get what you're saying. It's tempting knowing they have a 1st round pick that's solely their's, but nah. Best thing for this team to do is give it all they got and make noise after the regular season. Keep in mind, a well run organization can have a lot of success by being classy, drafting well wherever they pick, and making other savvy moves. You know how that's turned out for the Spurs. I know you, Broadway. You'll come around!!!
 
To get stability and respect it must begin with continuity and confidence. Before you can contend you need to build a winning environment (where people expect to win, they are determined to compete, and it starts with a mindset that believes in itself and expects to win).
 
I never felt like the game was out of reach. I loved how relentless in defense the Knicks were in the 4th quarter. It wasn't a fluke. Boggles my mind when teams don't have that effort.

Unless we're a Top 4 team and do the unthinkable ummmmm no. I'm not so naive as to not understand the climate of this league. Looking at things objectively we may end up on the winning side of this conference but realistically by how much?

Take for instance let's say we beat a team like the Pacers to make the playoffs by like 7gms, if they add a talent like Doncic/Porter in the "crap shoot" lottery and make free agent signing(they actually have cap space we don't) next yr could flip-flop easily. We essentially have to bring back the same squad because of circumstances

Without question we need another piece and sooner rather than later. We're setup organically to improve about 2yrs from now

That's it though, I'm rooting for the "unthinkable". Belieeeeve me. I'd love to get a great player in the draft. Here's the thing though, if KP turns out to be a SUPERSTAR, Ntikilina continues to grow on both ends of the floor, etc., forming a winning culture sooner than later is the best thing to do. Winning more and more will follow.

btw, I'd love for you to see analyze some of those top draft picks. No kidding, you're nickname "Dunkick" alone makes me want him:lol:.

OKC has a lot of potential, but it's weird they get hype and people think the Pelicans might not even make the Playoffs, and trade Cousins to the Cavaliers. The Pelicans will give the Warriors a lot more problems than anybody in the Playoffs. They have two of the best and most versatile big men in the league, who are also very young, have Jrue Holiday, Tony Allen, Jameer Nelson, and when Rondo comes back, things will click big time. He's the missing piece for dominance.

I see this as a Bucks situation potentially. A team who has/maybe has Superstar stud in Gannis/#kporzee yet who is missing Parker(the other important piece)/1 more lottery piece, yet the Bucks may struggle this yr.

Last yr they had things clicking and notice they're missing that 1 piece and a team like us adds a couple pieces and things can change just that fast

I don't want to be the Bucks of this yr...I want to be the Warriors/Spurs/Mavs when every yr you knew our team was a lock to be a factor. I don't want 1 season miracles.

Jrue Holiday is Trash and Gentry probably will be fired. Can't believe they gave Jrue 5yrs/$125mil. Their back court will be the death of them if Rondo doesn't hurry to return and remain healthy.

As far as OKC it's on Russ, he has to play consistently better...he's pressing some and it shows from game-to-game
