Game Thread: New York Knicks vs Philadelphia Sixers 1:00pm 1/18/2016

AA sinks a huge shot... Ish has the most blatant double dribble in history of NBA, right in front of the official who had an unimpeded view of the play... It's ignored

76ers miss the 3... Melo doesn't chase down rebound. Given another chance... And our refusal to foul... PHI hits a prayer 3... Tie game.

Double OT on a bank shot 3 by Covington and a Melo miss.

It's an entertaining game but I would have preferred a blowout by the Knicks.

Blocks, rebounds, and Buckets from LG. Melo fights for off rebound and then sinks the nail in the coffin.

Two big plays by Gallo, a layup on one end and a block on the other. Melo with a turnaround jumper and the Knicks lead by 6 with a minute left.

NYK get production from the guards... Ergo, the survive a scare and avoid a season-crushing loss

Lou and Gallo saved that game. How likely was that? The offense looked awfully stagnant, especially in the fourth.

Fans got their money's worth today. Fun game with a bad Sixers team not giving up and coming back from an 18 pt deficit and the Knicks winning in double OT. Still this should have been an easier win and if the Sixers had hit their FT's it might have been a loss.

Where this win puts the Knicks as far as how good they are I have no idea, DWill, LT, Rolo, Gallo and KP have exceeded my expectations so my prediction of no better than a 35 win team this season seems low. I'm hoping we can still make the playoffs this season.

These officials are awful with 11 games today we must have the worst crew

No and statements like these are blasphemous, really they are. Unless you admit that you consistently watch at least 30-60% of the games played each night comments like these are really akin to bold face lies. They are bad in every game pretty much. Everytime I see stuff like this I'm calling it out for what it is, busch league poor fan viewership.

This game was a thriller the Knicks managed to salvage what could have been a brutal loss. Refs were a non factor. Big plays by Gallo/Afflalo/Lance in OT and Melo finally came up clutch enough...sending the game in OT. Playing good team ball but we also saw when Porzingis went out how the team was suffering to get into any offensive rhythm. A win is a win I guess.

The downside is that we may have taken some physical loss to players after this game

You forgot Lou's defense and sinking those two freethrows.

They're making a big deal about KP foot injury but the guy wasn't getting treatment on the bench and he never went back to the locker room for an x-ray or treatment leading me to believe it's not serious. They might hold him out for a few games because this medical staff likes to do that but l don't think it's serious.

You know I have to agree with Chief about the refs, lot of new faces. The old standbys all seem to have retired or are retiring leading to the most blown calls in my memory, I'm sure the NBA has stats on this with their emphasis on replay these days. Have they done an analysis on the general quality of the ref'ing in general?
