This is a fair point. If someone from another company wasted my time to motivate one of their employees then I would be pretty disgusted afterwards.

The Cavaliers, Pacers and Nuggets have reportedly discussed a three-team deal that would send Paul George to Cleveland, with Kevin Love going to Denver.
To be clear, nothing is imminent and it's unclear what Indiana would get in return for PG in this scenario. It would also an interesting move from the Nuggets, who acquired Trey Lyles on draft day but could lose Danilo Gallinari in free agency. Chris Haynes reports that Denver would be willing to give up Kenneth Faried in a potential deal. Stay tuned.

Several names in Boston have been floating around the rumor mill such as Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart, but it sounds like Brown is all but untouchable. This also might explain why the Kristaps Porzingis trade talks stalled -- the Knicks reportedly wanted Brown in any deal. A crowded wing rotation in Boston limits Brown's fantasy appeal, but expect him to take on a larger role in 2017-18 because of his ability to play three positions.

PHil said I want Crowder and Smart, maybe.... but it still doesn't make much sense if we are rebuilding to ask for those 2 guys... anyway....
If BOS wasn't giving up Brown, no wonder no traction on a KP trade.

I don't think Ainge wanted to give up the 3 or any of his potential lottery picks either. He hangs on to those like they're gold. PJ and Ainge were no where close to a deal even without Brown. MN got to swap their firsts for an AS like Butler and PJ wanted 2 top 8 picks for potential, just wasn't going to happen with any team.

KP is 6 years younger and will cost 37 million less the next 2 seasons; and, while Butler is a free agent (if he declines his player option) after 2018-2019 season, KP is in his qualifying year.
Then, when contract is given.... KP will be 24 while Butler will be 30.
Right now, Butler is obviously the better player... he still cost MIN Lavine (a promising all-star potential player), their lottery pick last year (Dunn) and a lottery pick this year swap.
This would've been the equivalent of Brown, Smart and swapping 8 for 3... BOS probably wouldn't even do that for KP. Now, given his youth and extra year of control.... KP was worth a little more than what CHI got, IMO.
If KP was worth that(he is to us) those offers would've presented themselves and obviously they didn't. Phil told the whole league he was fielding calls. Otherwise there would have been substantial amount of reports running rampant on offers and thus creating a case of a bidding war. We only heard two teams Phx and Boston...both were more in decline mode while Phil was in high demand mode.
I said early on #kporzee doesn't have high value in this league, he's coveted but not valued there is a huge difference. Now we have a situation where there's probably a permanent severed relationship between he and Phil and #kporzee has to play like a MIP in this league next season, otherwise his value could decline.
Keep in mind as weird as his brother has been in all of this stoking the fire, there's no guarantee teams wanting to trade for him would be able to retain #kporzee if it's not to his liking. His brother said and I quote...
"he'll play out his contract if traded and once a free agent have complete control of where he wants to play."
There is some element of risk on interest

I'm not sure who exactly called inquiring about KP's availability, but Phil did say he wanted a top 4 pick. PHI, PHO, & BOS reportedly checked-in (3/4 teams who had what NY wanted). Reports also states that plenty of their teams asked too.
Time was working against a deal too. Anyway, I'm sure if NY were actually serious about trading KP.... more serious offers would surface.
NY shouldn't trade KP for anything less than a beefy package. 3 assets. Otherwise, just hold on to KP and see if he blossoms into what many believe he'll ultimately be.
Butler trade set market.... 2 assets and swap of picks. That's the starter point for KP.
butler set the mark if u believe that kp is the same almost allstar that butler is... today... not tomorrow, not in 2-3 yrs but today...
At the start of last season no one wanted to agree with me that rookie HGM were going to out play KP in the paint.
I guess im the only Knick that doesnt see much potential in KP ..

Butler wasn't just an All-Star, he led his team to the playoffs, with a winning record and he made an All-NBA team.
As of today #kporzee doesn't have true intrinsic value.
no u r not... I'm with ya... I see a tall un coordinated guy who really cant dribble, questionable shooter, not a great rebounder or shot blocker... now some of that is because he's a bean pole, and maybe he puts on some weight. but that will not help out his shooting, ball handling, and mite make him a step/two slower... in a word...risky' to build your franchise around him..
Remember our last no. 8 draft pick. Got waived by the TWolves today, I would bet he clears waivers and no team picks him up. Looks like his NBA career may be over. Hope Frank works out better at #8 than Jordan Hill who will always be remembered as the guy the Knicks selected after Steph or in Franks case what made us select some unknown French kid over DSJ.

The Timberwolves could have had Ricky Rubio and Stephen Curry. Now THAT'S something.
Point is .. What Phil did was show KP brother how low KP value are to other NBA teams ..
If the Timberwolves would have hinted that KAT were on the trading-block a week before draft night ..
so many NBA teams in the league would have been doing flip-flops turning the league into Chaos within three days for the level one star player KAT.

Mark Stein tweeted out that Melo's camp is attempting to negotiate a buyout with NYK... a follower of his responded with a picture of Lebron on a cell phone with the caption, "This is Melo's Camp." Too funny.
Avoiding having to use the stretch on his contract is a good thing....
Gaining some cap space is also considered an asset;
Addition by subtraction is a good thing to, especially if you think Melo will stunt the kids development.
But cap space only works if we plan on using it, either to snag a young free agent or to absorb a bad contract (if that comes with assets)....
And, something is troubling with these star players holding teams hostage. Why should Melo refuse a trade, so nYk get nothing for his departure, only so he gets his cake and eats it to?
Why should Melo get paid and get to go to Was or Cle? Why should NY help those teams.
We're only talking about 1 season.... let Melo suffer more losing, if he won't waive his NTC.
