Knicks or working out Pirzingis today. This is TWICE now we are getting a close look at the 7"1' Latvian.

I think a case can be made for Towns, Okafor, Russell, Pirzingis, Mudiay, WCS, Herzonia, Winslow. In a way, the all posses certain "triangle-worthy" attributes that garner attention from NYK perspective. This would be my big board.

I think if the top-3 are gone... We would trade down for Lyles if we got a Eric Bledsoe type talent.... OR... we dump Caderon, Get a nice player, and future picks. I think this b/c I believe Phil loves Lyles. The prospects 4-8 all come with a ?s in some aspect. Lyles may not possess the upside of those other players, but he is a solid dive right down the center of the fairway. He's a Horace Grant clone. To get Lyles & Bledsoe, or to get Lyles and dump Calderon's 8-mil... that might be more valuable in the short term, no?

I think Phil would take him if he wasn't a project. Unfortunately Porz won't be a big enough contributor in yr 1 to give us a 25gm win improvement. Phil will draft BPA who gives us this kind of chance to potentially turn things around. Very intriguing he's willing to come work out for us but so far I believe has ducked Philly.

Come on mafra is Trill or Lyles? I think Lyles if gone before 13 and I do not think Bledsoe is anymore of a triangle fit than the guards in the draft projected to go high. Where would he play? Phil said we're set on the Mike and Mike show at 'lead guard'.

Team president Phil Jackson said on ESPN Radio on Monday the Knicks are covered at lead guard and at small forward, and will likely take the best player available to them at No. 4 in the draft.


Jackson did not rule out adding to one of those positions, as long as that is the best player available when their pick comes up.

Which is why he probably doesn't trade for Bledsoe $12mil more of salary at that. I don't think we're sold on THjr long term. Phil wants a 2(penetrator/defender) or 5/4(rebounder/defender) combo. You think he'd pass on Russell if he were there? I doubt it and I doubt he passes on Mudiay.

A good trade off may trump both although I don't see the trade partner to get us what we need. I don't mind as long as he's bringing back adequate talent on cheap contracts.

When asked what he's looking fwd to most about the NBA, PIRZ said he's excited about having access to a gym 2/7 (which isn't he case in Europe). Mudaiy & Pirz are gym rats. I like that about them.

I heard that about Europe, the guy can't get into the gym at night or weekends. The Knicks will give Zinger the keys and the code to the security system if he comes to NY,

Well it looks like our two top bigs are gone. Got a feeling the Zinger workout had a purpose, to compare him and WCS and flush out a consensus of who had the better workout and which big the brain trust likes more. Looking to me more and more the Knicks pick a big in the draft.

I think this was done to discourage Philly even more. Porz has now worked out for Lakers/Magic/Knicks in person. Phil is not going to pick Porz who has admitted he's essentially a project who plays power forward, same position as Monroe. But hey if this thwarts the Monroe signing I'll rock with it.

Detroit rumor has been shot down and it appears from both sides. It either means the parts mentioned aren't going to work or neither side is really interested in doing business.

Phil knows 13 is too low to get any of the players he wants, it would only be a salary dump trade. Bledsoe is neither a point guard nor guard and is short of build. Phil wants a better offer put on the table from a team picking above them.

Kristaps Porzingis' measurements from his workout in Las Vegas last week include a height of 7'1.25" without shoes, a 7'6 wingspan, and weight of 230 lbs.

Oh boy. That 7'6 wingspan is just another reason why it's hard not to get excited about Zinger. His ceiling is arguably higher than Karl-Anthony Towns, but the risk factor is much greater. He won't be going outside of the top 10 and could go in the top five.

The Knicks are holding their usual predraft meeting on Monday, and they, like many around the league, are asking the same question: How high will and NCAA player of the year Frank Kaminsky go?
The Knicks had the Wisconsin big man in for dinner and a workout late last week and came away impressed. While there has been speculation that the Knicks would like to trade down in order to take Kaminsky, they haven’t found a willing partner for a deal.


Kaminsky would not have gone to New York unless the interest from the Knicks was real. And he was assured that it was, that the team would not waste his time or theirs unless there was a chance he would wind up with the Knicks.
That’s why one of the topics of discussion at the Knicks meeting was bucking conventional wisdom, passing on guards D’Angelo Russell and/or Emmanuel Mudiay and taking Kaminsky — whose versatility makes him a natural fit in the triangle offense — with the fourth overall pick, two league sources told Sporting News. If they do pass on the two guards expected to be on the board, the Knicks are also considering Willie Cauley-Stein and Justise WInslow with the No. 4 pick, though Cauley-Stein appears to be slipping.

Kaminsky is probably going to be a very good player in the NBA, but yeah, no way you draft Kaminsky without trading down first. I wouldn't consider Kaminsky even in our top 5 right now for guys that we could possibly take with the #4 pick. The Sporting News, much like every other source of news, is just taking the concept of us prioritizing fit in the triangle offense above a player's actual value to a radical extreme.

I agree. I think Kaminsky is going to be a good NBA player. But I think his lack of rebounding and athleticism and the fact that he only has one really good tool (shooting - I don't think his post skills will translate well due to lack of strength) push him pretty far down the list. If we want a center who can't rebound and can't do much other than shoot, we could just re-sign Andrea Bargnani.
