With Tim Hardaway Jr. out after the back injury he suffered in Washington, Allonzo Trier made his first start for the Knicks. In spite of finishing with 21 points, Trier missed when it mattered most. He could have ended the game in regular time but his 17 foot jumper with 3.2 seconds on the clock didn’t went in. He went scoreless in the first OT period missing both field goals, then added 5 in the second period but it wasn’t enough.

Led by Zach LaVine, who finished with a career-high 41 points, including the game winner with 0.2 on the clock, the Bulls cut a 4 game losing streak and have now tied the Knicks, both teams standing at 3-8 right now.

“Tough way to end the game. Those are the ones we want to win when we’re right there. Back-to-back, legs were getting tired. Zach was saying the same thing. Who want to go home? Great battle to the end.”

The Knicks were led by Enes Kanter with 23 points and 24 rebounds. He also dished 7 dimes. Emmanuel Mudiay made one of his best games as a Knick and scored 16 points off the bench. Kevin Knox, who missed the last seven games returned last night and got 5 minutes of action managing a steal and a couple of points. Damyean Dotson finished with 18 and Mario Hezonja added 15.
