Knicks fall short to Celtics despite Morris’ effort

Marcus Morris, who scored a season high 29 points against his former team, kept the Knicks’ hopes alive when he tied the game at 102 with 4.7 left to play but in the end, it all came down to Jayson Tatum, who sank a long two pointer with 1.3 on the clock, to give his team a 104-102 victory over the New York Knicks.

Morris saved 15 points for the fourth quarter, carrying the Knicks on his back, yet the win failed again to come.

“I played well, but at the end of the day I’m trying to get wins. I’m here to bring wins.”

– Marcus Morris

The game itself was very competitive, it had 24 lead changes, 10 ties and the biggest lead was of seven points – that happened just once in the first quarter.

Frank Ntilikina was finally inserted in the starting lineup and finished with 10 points, 3 steals and 2 assists. RJ Barrett scored 15 points, grabbed 7 boards and dished 5 dimes while Bobby Portis led the bench with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Knox – with another double figures game dropped 12 buckets.

The Celtics were led by Kemba Walker’s 33 points, followed by Tatum who delivered 24.
