Knicks fall to Hawks at home 112-99 after blowing 23 point lead

The Knicks had a couple of scoreless timeframes during the third quarter summing over 8 minutes, time in which they blew a 23 point lead, allowed the Hawks to take control of the game and fell eventually 112-99 at the Garden  in front of a sellout crowd.

The Knicks have lost their first game at home and are now 0-3 in the last three matchups. The loss against the Hawks was even more dramatic as it didn’t even involved Trae Young as much as it did since the start of the rivalry.

Young, who played just 8 minutes in the second half and scored just 2 from a total of 17 had plenty of support from Dejounte Murray, who finished with a game high 36 points, 9 assists and 5 steals.

“They played with a lot of energy after being down a decent amount. We just came out a little lackadaisical [at halftime]”

Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson scored a team-high 20 points and shot 8-15 from the field. RJ Barrett added 19 and Julius Randle finished with 14 shooting just 33%.
