Knicks defeat Bulls in OT to secure the 2nd seed

In what was probably the most exciting game of the season, the New York Knicks secured a monumental victory over the Chicago Bulls, clinching not only a nail-biting overtime win but also claiming the coveted second seed in the Eastern Conference. It was a momentous achievement for the Knicks, marking their first 50-win season since the 2012-2013 campaign.

The Bulls, though the game held no significance for their playoff positioning, pushed the Knicks to their limits, forcing the game into overtime and keeping the outcome uncertain until the final seconds.

Jalen Brunson, with an exceptional performance, etched his name into Knicks history by delivering a stellar 40-point, 8-rebound, and 7-assist showcase. His remarkable performance tied Patrick Ewing‘s record for regular-season games with 40 points or more. The two of them are trailing Bernard King, whose franchise record of 13 games still stands since 1984-85.

With just 13.1 seconds left on the clock, Josh Hart‘s failure to secure the inbound pass provided the Bulls with a golden opportunity to seal the game. Trailing 119-120, DeMarr DeRozan drove to the basket in a last-ditch effort, but his floating jumper narrowly missed its mark, denying the Bulls a potential game-winning shot with only 2 seconds remaining.
