Knicks unveil City Edition look and roll past Memphis for 5th straight win

NEW YORK – The night started with nostalgia and ended in dominance. The New York Knicks brought back memories of the late 90s by debuting their new city edition uniforms, a nod to the 1996-2000 home set, along with a court design that featured the beloved roundball logo at center court.

By the final buzzer, they had more than lived up to the occasion, dismantling the Memphis Grizzlies 133-120 for their fifth straight victory.

Jalen Brunson ran the show with another poised and masterful performance, finishing with 32 points and 10 assists while slicing through Memphis’ defense like it was a warm-up drill. Mikal Bridges added 22 points of his own, and Karl-Anthony Towns continued his steady two-way excellence with 21 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring both the scoring and the glass.

The Knicks seized control early, closing the first quarter on a 12-0 run and taking a commanding 77-54 lead into halftime. Their three-point shooting was relentless and historic – 22 made threes on a franchise-record 55 attempts.

The barrage came evenly across both halves, 11 in each. OG Anunoby had one of his quieter shooting nights from deep, making just a single triple in 10 tries, yet still put up 16 points through his energy and defense. Jordan Clarkson led the second unit with 13, giving the bench a steady scoring punch.

For Memphis, it was an uphill battle from the start. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama off the bench scored 19 points apiece, while Ja Morant tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. But his 4-for-14 shooting night summed up the Grizzlies’ struggles against a locked-in Knicks defense.

New York’s lead ballooned to 111-83 late in the third quarter before some late sloppiness crept in. Memphis managed to trim the deficit to 126-116 with 4:37 left, but that was as close as they’d get. The Knicks regrouped, reasserted control, and cruised to another convincing win, looking every bit like a team enjoying its rhythm – and its retro look – on a perfect night at the Garden.
