2018 NBA Free Agency

Please .. stop talking bout TANKING the upcoming season for a top-5 pick !!!
Didn't we TANK the past 3 seasons ???

We didn?t tank at all. We signed vets and always played our best. We won?t be tanking this season... our roster is one of the worst in the league without KP. What was our record after KP went down? 4-22?

I fully expect well try to win every game... we will play hard... I even think we have a bunch of quality young kids with potential. With that still, we will barely win 25 games. Ergo, we?ll be in a sweet lottery position.

And, in this draft, there is a mini LeBron. Perfect year to finish with a bad record.

Dont feet tho... 1 more year if WOE.

Then we get KP back, kids gain experience, we get another lottery stud, and Kyrie and Butler come over to NYC.

2019-2022 is our time!!!

Nuggets trade Wilson Chandler?s expiring contract to Philly, who has the cap space to absorb it and gets a 2nd round pick and a possible 2nd round pick swap in the process. Denver saves huge from a luxury tax perspective with this deal.

I'm interested in all the off-season moves of the EAST top 5 winning teams next season .. 76ers, Boston, Raptors, Wizards, Bucks ..

So the 76ers get veteran-leadership help at the 2, 3, n 4 positions from a multi-position role-player Wilson Chandler ..
Wow! Philly 76ers has so much room in their cap this offseason ($74M) they could've afford to take Noah's contract off our hands LOL
.. Or Philly could sign a FA player the Spurs would trade Kawhi for within the next week SMH
The 76ers are re-signing veteran JJ Redick outside performance .. screens from Chandler next season ..
Philadelphia now with a projected $14M in room after the JJ Redick $12-13M one-year contract.
Redick can veto any trade because of the one-year bird restriction.

Dwight Howard has reportedly finalized a buyout with the Nets, and he will sign a one-year deal for the tax mid-level exception with the Wizards.

Oh well at least we still have Noah and Troll Kanter...:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

After signing Raymond Felton, the OKC Thunder reportedly became the first team in NBA history to have a combined salary and projected luxury tax bill of over 300 million. Ouch. Happy 4th of July!

Jazz sign Dante Exum to a 3yr/33M deal. When I heard it I thought what Isola thought. 33M for a guy that played 80 games the past 3 years and shot 28% from 3 last year. Seems like one of the worst contracts signed this off-season when you think about all the guards that have been signing one year deals in the 2M-12M range.

So... KOQ opts our and winds up with a 1-yr deal for 4.5 mil? He signs with Indy. How much did he opt out of?

OKC and Melo parting ways, their payroll and luxury tax bill is so high that by merely stretching the last year of his deal saves them 100M in salary and tax OUCH. If they trade him to LA for for the untradeable contract of Deng they could still save 60M in salary and tax. LA could use him and I think Lebron would like to have him, pretty sure thats where he's headed next.

Wow! KOQ joins Miles & Young in the Pacers frontcourt Bigmen rotation .. Tyreke joins Oladipo & Collison in the Pacers backcourt.
The Paul George Pacers were 5 steps a head of the ISO-Melo Knicks back then, and are still 5 steps a head of the Knicks come the 2018-19 season.

As long as TIRED-KP is a starter the Knicks are LOSERS!
A healthy KP has never brang wins to the Knicks team in his 3 seasons!
The Knicks won games when Timmy went on the injured list, giving 2nd unit lineup Knits, McDerm, Beasley, and KOQ more playing-time minutes, plus letting Jack n Lee finally run the back-court without no-defense Timmy on the court begging for the ball on every offensive possesion.
Plus when 30 minute of playing-time Timmy return to the lineup the Knicks went on a long losing-streak that got TIRED-KP injured.
The Knicks has the chance to be a winning team having TIRED-KP out for half the season !!!

So much for trading Butler... LaVine signs with Kings (4/78).

Update:

The Bulls have decided to match Sacramento's four-year, $78 million offer sheet to Zach LaVine, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

Well, that was quick. The Bulls do have the cap space, and perhaps they think they're pot-committed on LaVine after the Jimmy Butler deal. Whether that was the right call, we'll have to see how it plays out. LaVine is not a very good player based on advanced stats, but the Bulls are hoping some better defenders around him can help.

Can't remember a time when so many guys have taken big salary hits or signed one year deals. There will be more teams with cap space next year but how many guys will be coming off one year deals looking for bigger contracts. Brook Lopez signs a 1 yr 3.4M deal with the Bucks.

3:28 p.m. ET: Free agent center Brook Lopez has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks using the bi-annual exception, league sources tell ESPN's Chris Haynes. Lopez, 30, averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lots of activity the first day of FA after option decision day. Big names like CP3, KD, PG staying with their old teams. Ariza is a loss for the Rox and they'll probably lose Mbah-Moute as well, Rox better hope Ryno steps up and Green signs for the minimum again, short of a trade the Rox don't have a lot of options in FA.

LeBron goes to LA it's not to be on the next super team without PG or Kawhi. Not ruling out he goes to LA but it'll be for the reason DWade said, life style and family not basketball.
Mbah-Moute back to the Clips 4.3M/1yr deal. Rumors are Rox will try to sign Melo after he leaves OKC, Lakers could trade Deng if OKC is interested and still save 60M by acquiring him and trading Melo.
