Game Thread: New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers 4/23/2023 1:00 pm [Game #4]

IQ doesn’t score, QG doesn’t play, Randle can’t score… doesn’t matter bc Brunson and RJ shoulder the load. Not a good weekend for the anti RJ crowd. Dude is only 21. He’s looked the part Games 3/4.

Brunson had 29 points today in Game 4. Mitchell had 11 (only 2 points in the second half). Knicks up 3-1 in the series. Brunson on verge of knocking out Donovan Mitchell twice in back2back years, different teams and different conferences.

Randle is like Carlos Boozer: stellar against weaker opponents, severely challenged when facing game plan adjustments. IQ will get his feet under him. I thought his defense was excellent. When your shot isn't falling, and you have the jitters, do whatever is less dependent on nerves: Defense, rebounding and energy. I am more concerned with Randles body language. Did you see his face when they didnt clear out when he had Osman on him? Not good.

Hold on, u be missing the Friday night Knicks ???
not necessary. since i have a 9 to 5 monday to friday day job i can't watch games that start at 7-7:30pm or later (i'm 7 hours ahead so it's basically 2 am here). But if it's Friday or Saturday (and i don't have an event the other day that starts in the morning) then i can stay up late. So these noon games (or any that start before 5pm) are a blessing for me

Maybe its me..........There seems to be two RJ's ...

1. hangs on perimeter and is Happy to just shoot a 3.
2. Aggressive RJ that drives to the hoop and gets a good shot or pass every time.

we don't need RJ #1.
Randle's body language on defense was pathetic. We all knew at the % minute commercial break there was a good chance Thibs would put him back in......so glad Thibs left topic and kept randle on the bench.

Sorry I’m late to the party for both weekend playoff games but all I have to say is wow! JR still nursing his ankle injury???? No problem??? Josh Hart dinged up and IQ off no problem. JB putting this team on his back whenever we need a clutch bucket! And like what was said above bad weekend for the RJ haters(Dumb Raider). I also like RJ driving and not settling for long jumpers. But that fadeaway was a dagger! One game away from a long awaited playoff series winner!

I would rest JR… with game on Wed, give him time to heal. Be ready for Game 6 or for next series. Let Obi and Deuce get some burn.

My bad .. I forgot bout the 7 hour time difference .. You are a TRUE Knicks fan !!!

Knicks players that need recognition for a 3-1 Series .. Go Knicks
MitchRob & Hartenstein locked down Jarrett & Mobley on both sides of the court for this win.
Josh Hart's 2-Way hustle performance was outstanding in the 4th quarter for this win.
Jalen Brunson performance have made him the MVP of this playoff series.
If RJ Barrett falls back into his (low IQ) lazy moves, I still give Barrett big credit for his scoring to give the Knicks a 3-1 lead in this playoff series.

This is not the first, second, or tenth time Randle had a performance like Game-4 (Hawks 1-4 series).
It is the first time in 3 seasons of coach Thibs, when Randle had a poor performance was benched!
I been very critical on Randle (and Barrett) about their forth quarter performance the past 4 seasons.
Today, every time Randle (or Barrett) touch the ball in the 4th quarter, memories of turnovers, and dribble-dribble-dribble surface in my head.
Randle (and Barrett) have showed repeatedly they are not Closers of a game.
D.Rose & rookie Quickley was nice Closers the final 6 min of a game.
It's the playoff .. And the Knicks have three 4th quarter CLOSERS that fit the bill for scoring and defensive-stops.
1) MVP Brunson,
2) 6th Man Quickley,
3) 2-Way Josh Hart
4) And Grimes
There's no room for Randle in the backcourt during the playoffs.

Randle proved he is a great player in the regular season, we have no doubts of his capabilities, but he has a mental hurdle in the playoff that he has to beat. we need powerful fighters with very good scoring skills if we want to advance more. let's pray he brake the barrier and play like regular season.
IQ and Grimes are nowhere to be found on offence in the playoffs..... but i expect them to be a little better every game they play in the playoff. we have a great team, but we lack experience....

IQ despite scoring did seem to slow down Garland a bit......he focused on Defense.....Wish I could say the same about Randle.

Love Josh Hart, all Hart and Desire. Did you hear him tell Thibs, I’ll go 48 if you want me to. He has made a huge difference since the Knicks acquired him, gives us depth at guard plus his D and play off the boards. Props to our bigs Mitch and IHart for outplaying a perceived advantage the Cavs had.
