In an interview on Arizona Sports radio 98.7 on Tuesday, McDonough further addressed Bledsoe’s tweet on Sunday that read, “I don’t wanna be here.” The tweet was posted moments before the organization fired coach Earl Watson.

“I was certainly surprised by it and disappointed by it,” McDonough said. “I think Eric’s a good person. I think he’s unfortunately gotten some bad advice and is listening to the wrong people. I think generally, any time you sign a contract, it doesn’t only work one way. It works both ways, and for a guy with years on his contract to say or intimate he didn’t want to be here anymore, I didn’t find that to be appropriate, and I think if he says he wants to be a leader, that’s the opposite of what a leader does and the opposite of what leadership is. So I think that’s all I’m going to say about that.”

How I see it too, the throwing salt on wound here is making this public. Not good, you spoke your peace the other day let it go.

Yeah, this is kind of hard to swallow. He's calling out his player in public, b/c he's angry that player made public his displeasure with the team? He now has gone further saying he's disappointed in Bledsoe b/c he's not honoring his contract... a contract he signed. Well, Mr. tool GM.... Did you honor the contract when you benched a healthy Bledsoe last season b/c you wanted the team to tank? Potentially hurting the player's ability to earn money for his next contract?

Now the GM is trying to save face... save value... saying he should honor the contract? PLEASE... every other team knows you have to trade the player. Good luck rebuilding his trade value.

In a typical year, thoughtful Knicks fans would worry over the impulse the team would have to give up some young piece to get a guy like Bledsoe. And they should worry about it now. The Suns would gladly trade him for a package built around 19-year-old rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina, or the Knicks? first-rounder this year, which will likely be in the top five of a draft with a few intriguing prospects.

But here was the encouraging thing the scout said about the Knicks, the thing that Knicks fans should take to heart: "They?re bad right now. They should be bad right now. They need to be. Who knows what is going to happen, they could still do something crazy, but it seems like they?re OK with being bad for now."

New general manager Scott Perry has preached patience, as he should. Rebuilding this franchise is going to take a good while, and a trade for a 28-year-old with all the red flags attached to Bledsoe is not going to help anything.

But patience is an easy concept when you?re a couple months into the job. Phil Jackson preached patience, too, in his early stages. Two years later, he was trading for Derrick Rose and signing Joakim Noah.

Word is, though, the Knicks front office is not budging on any of their best assets (the pick and Ntilikina) around big man Kristaps Porzingis. They?re lukewarm, too, according to sources, on the possibility of moving Willy Hernangomez, even as he has fallen out of the team?s rotation early in the year. The Knicks certainly have enough on hand to acquire Bledsoe, if that is what they wanted to do.

In past years, that?s exactly what they?d have wanted to do. It would be the very Knicks-y thing to do. But, wisely, they?re resisting that urge. For now, at least.

The Bucks are "somewhat reluctant" to trade Malcolm Brogdon in a deal for Eric Bledsoe, according to team reporter Gery Woelfel.

While Brogdon is only a second-year player, he is going to be turning 25 years old, so the Suns actually have 11 younger players on their roster. On Arizona Sports 98.7, general manager Ryan McDonough said teams have been "aggressive" with offers, but he wouldn't say if a deal was imminent. Bledsoe's fantasy owners may have to stash him for a bit.

Other than the other reasons like don't want to give up 2 young assets, we're rebuilding, he's not 25 etc. Bledsoe has said he wants to go to a winner, he wouldn't be happy here and would probably bail on the Knicks as soon as he hit FA. So we would give up 2 guys that we could hold on to for 8 years for a guy that would stay 2.

I agree. Let the kids sink or swim. DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPTS to improve this dumpster-fire. Stink... badly... win 12 games... get a precious asset in a top 5 pick. And, if necessary, rinse-&-repeat next season.

THEN... after the 2018-2019 season.... Make a run at free agents... look at trades... team should be ready to compete then.

I don't like this deal for both teams. Giving up 2 picks for Bledsoe for MIL and the Suns got nothing back except cap space next summer and those picks which will probably be lottery protected and in the 20-30 range and a late second.

Phoenix will gain cap relief next summer along with a future asset in the Bucks first round pick in 2018. The contract of Greg Monroe has a $17.8M cap hit this year but will expire at the end of the year. Phoenix in 2018-19 has $15M in room that could increase to $23M based on the Alex Len cap hold. The Suns now potentially could have three first round picks in 2018, their own, Miami (protected 1-7) and the Bucks (TBA protection). The Suns currently now have $9M in cap space.

On the Knicks front. Decision time is coming and more likely to me that a vet gets waived like Sessions but rumors are they are shopping Kuz, he's not happy sitting on the bench so it makes sense to move him.

The New York Knicks are reportedly shopping forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas.

Ian Begley of ESPN.com reported the news Tuesday, noting New York has reached out to other teams. However, "the interest level in Kuzminskas, who hasn't been part of the Knicks rotation this season, is unclear," Begley wrote.
The motivation behind a potential trade lies in the need to create a roster spot for Joakim Noah.
Begley explained Noah is set to return Monday from his 20-game suspension for taking a banned substance, but the Knicks have 15 players with guaranteed contracts on the roster and need to open a spot for him with a corresponding move.


Trading Noah is also an option, although Begley granted the Knicks haven't "found a suitable deal" for the two-time All-Star and 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year even though they have made him available.
The 32-year-old still provided rebounding for New York in 2016-17 (8.8 boards a night) but is no longer the consistent double-double force who could lock down opposing big men when in his prime.
Begley suggested Ramon Sessions is "a likely candidate to be waived," assuming the Knicks can't move either Noah or Kuzminskas in a trade, especially since the guard has largely been replaced by Jarrett Jack in the rotation.
As for Kuzminskas, he hasn't appeared in a regular-season game in 2017-18, although he did post decent numbers in 68 games and five starts in 2016-17.
He averaged 6.3 points and 1.9 rebounds a night, helping stretch the floor with his three-point shooting (32.1 percent) and providing an offensive spark at times off the bench. However, he was a concern on the defensive side of the ball, as opponents shot 7.5 percent better than their normal averages when Kuzminskas guarded them, per NBA.com.

He wouldn't represent a season-altering addition for any team, but a squad in need of offense in its second unit could find value in a potential trade with the Knicks.

Beat me to it And1. I just posted the article above, takes two to tango so we need a trade partner we can do this deal with that has a roster spot to absorb him without sending out a player and one that is willing to give us at least an early 2nd, I say keep him if we can only get a 50 or worse second. Odds are more likely we cut Sessions or even Jack if Horn wants to give Frank the starters job now.

I'm meh on the Suns deal, Bucks do need a player to take some of the load off GF but iono seemed like Kidd found a groove with Monroe as the go to guy off the bench. Kidd has more pressure and he better develop Maker into that guy for now I guess. Suns appear to be content going full rebuild heavy handed. I guess for the Suns it's okay but after this summer they should be done...

Seeing the protection of the picks, I think the Bucks won this trade. Suns probably don't see that 1st until 2020 and will probably trade it somewhere before then.

Oops, I just saw what I wrote here, Suns have a good chance of getting that second, the Bucks pick will probably fall into the 48-60 range. The first round one is the questionable one.

Nice to see the Nets get an asset that was ours(NOT!). Colangelo got nothing for Noel and Okafor, his GMing leaves very little to be desired
