Knicks destroy Hawks, 122-101 as Brunson scores 28

The New York Knicks continued their impressive form since trading for Josh Hart with a resounding 122-101 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night at State Farm Arena.

The Knicks wasted no time in taking control of the game, opening up a forceful 25-8 lead in the first quarter.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with a brilliant performance, scoring 28 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Julius Randle also had a big night, logging a double double with 25 points and 11 boards, while RJ Barrett chipped in with 17 points .

New York’s newest acquisition, Josh Hart, made his presence felt once again with a 13-point outing, while providing his trademark energy and hustle on both ends of the court off the bench alongside Immanuel Quickley, who added 14 buckets.

The Hawks showed some signs of life in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 82-71 with 2:43 left, but the Knicks responded with two quick three-pointers at the start of the fourth quarter from Obi Toppin and Josh Hart to take a commanding 97-78 lead.

The Hawks never threatened again. They were led by De’Andre Hunter with 20 points and Trae Young contributed with 19 points.

The win lifts the Knicks to sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 33-27 record. It is worth noting that the Knicks have been unbeaten since trading for Hart, who has brought a new dimension to their game.
