Knicks dominate Nuggets behind OG Anunoby’s career night and record-tying performance

The New York Knicks delivered their most dominant performance of the season, steamrolling the Denver Nuggets 145-118 behind OG Anunoby’s career-high 40 points. Shooting an impressive 16-for-23 from the field, Anunoby was unstoppable, setting the tone for an electrifying night in Denver.

Karl-Anthony Towns added a monster 30-point, 15-rebound double-double, while Jalen Brunson orchestrated the offense masterfully with 23 points and a career-high 17 assists. Brunson was particularly pivotal in the opening frame, scoring nine straight points late in the first quarter to help the Knicks establish a commanding 34-24 lead.

From there, the Knicks never looked back. By the end of the first quarter, they were up 36-24, and the onslaught continued. They outscored Denver 76-53 by halftime, showcasing a fluid, unselfish style of play that tied a franchise record for assists with 45—a mark originally set 45 years ago.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Knicks reached their largest lead of the night at 121-91, and from there, the reserves handled the rest. The team shot a scorching 60.9% from the field, including 52.8% from beyond the arc. They dominated the paint 62-46 and outran the Nuggets with a 24-8 advantage in fast break points.

“Defensively, I thought we did a great job showing up tonight and offensively obviously, it was a historical night for our offense. Both sides of the ball were working today.”

Denver’s stars couldn’t keep up with New York’s relentless attack. Russell Westbrook led the Nuggets with 27 points off the bench, while Nikola Jokic added 22 points and Jamal Murray chipped in 20. Despite their individual efforts, the Nuggets had no answer for the Knicks’ high-octane performance.
