Knicks dominate the Wizards 134-106 to complete their first three-game winning streak of the season

The Knicks dominated at Madison Square Garden last night, cruising past the Washington Wizards 134-106 in a game that showcased their offensive cohesion and flair.

Jalen Brunson led the charge with a commanding 26-point performance, shooting an efficient 9-15 from the field, including six three-pointers. After struggling in recent outings, Brunson looked every bit the leader, adding 11 assists to orchestrate the Knicks’ season-high 37 assists—a feat Bill Pidto pointed out was a rarity last season, with only 10 such games.

Karl-Anthony Towns continued his steady contributions with 24 points and 12 rebounds, providing a strong interior presence the Wizards couldn’t counter.

The Knicks’ ball movement was superb from the jump, turning an early 12-7 deficit into a 40-24 lead by the end of the first quarter. From there, it was a one-sided affair, with the Knicks piling it on quarter by quarter.

OG Anunoby added 16 points, while Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart chipped in 14 apiece. Off the bench, Cameron Payne lit it up with 17 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, as Tom Thibodeau turned to his reserves to close out the game.

But the highlight of the night belonged to Jericho Sims. Six minutes into the second quarter, Sims set a screen for Brunson before rolling to the basket. Receiving the pass in stride, Sims launched from behind the restricted area and threw down an emphatic one-handed dunk over Kyle Kuzma and Jonas Valančiūnas. The MSG crowd erupted, and even Brunson was left in awe, his jaw visibly dropping at the play.

I had a front row seat, it was amazing.

The Knicks were lethal from beyond the arc, draining 20 threes at a 50% clip. In contrast, the Wizards managed just 11 of 33 from deep, unable to keep pace. Despite solid individual efforts from Carlton Carrington, Corey Kispert, and Jonas Valančiūnas, who each scored 18 points, the Wizards were no match for the Knicks’ balanced attack and suffocating defense.

With this win, the Knicks secure their first three-game winning streak of the season, further highlighting their evolution as a team that thrives on unselfish play and high-energy performances.

Up-next: The Knicks (8-6) will travel to Phoenix on Wednesday to take on the 9-6 Suns.
