Knicks fall short in Charlotte as Porzingis’ buzzer shot didn’t count

The New York Knicks were close of breaking new grounds last night and win their third straight game, matching their longest winning streak of last season.

Kristaps Porzingis was 0.1 seconds close of stelaing the victory but – as the announcers called it – he might be cursed by long fingers, as his three pointer at the buzzer was ruled out by the officials after reviewing it.

Arron Afflalo made his debut against the Hornets as Sasha Vujacic was moved to bench by coach Fisher. Afflalo scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, logging 28 minutes.

After being quieter the other night, Porzingis had another loud game and even if the missed buzzer shot he still finished in double-double, with 10 points and a career high 15 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony led New York with 29 points while Jose Calderon finished with 13 points and 5 assists. On a side note, this was the first game where none of the bench players scored double figures.

Knicks return to Madison Square Garden on Friday when they’ll meet Lebron’s Cavaliers.
