Knicks win in Arizona fueled by Vujacic

With Arron Afflalo out, Sasha Vujacic started at 2, after being benched for most of the season. Vujacic’s energy propelled the Knicks, however, to a 128-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Vujacic scored a season high 23 points (14 by halftime) while shooting 7-8 from the field, including 3-4 from behind the arc.

“We looked like a playoff team today. We played team basketball, especially on defense. When we do that, I don’t think there are many teams in the NBA that can beat us.”

Carmelo Anthony also scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Derrick Williams electrified the TSR Arena with three alley-oops and a windmill dunk, and scored all of his 18 points in the last 11 minutes.

Last night’s victory was New York’s 5th in the last 22 games. The Knicks will play three more games in the west (Clippers, Lakers & Warriors) then one in Washington before returning to the Garden.
