Kevin Seraphin shines in Knicks’ win

The Pelicans vs Knicks game was preceded by the intonation of the France national anthem and a moment of silence, in memory of the tragic terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on Friday night.

Kristaps Porzingis broke the ice with a three pointer but Anthony Davis, who was questionable for the game, tied the game soon with a long distance shot, announcing that this wasn’t going to be an easy-win for the Knicks.

Pelicans take the lead after Alonzo Gee steals a ball from Langston Galloway and finishes in style but the main problem for Derek Fisher are the open spaces that allows New Orleans to score easy points from the paint. Former Knick, Toney Douglas puts his team on a 10-0 run to expose the struggling of the second unit from the late of the first quarter.

The poor shooting continues in the second quarter but New York gets a break after a couple of turnovers from the Pelicans and Carmelo Anthony ties the game at 36. The Knicks shot 17-51 from the field in the first half and in spite of the terrible percentage they were trailing by just a mere couple of points to start the third quarter.

The second half shows a new face Knicks that start on an 8-0 run and explode in the fourth when they take a 10 point lead, with Kevin Seraphin playing his best game of the season, scoring 12 points (6/8 from the field) in just 14 minutes. The Pelicans pushed to tie the game in the last minute, with Anthony Davis’ inbound alley-oop but Galloway’s steal from Jrue Holiday puts the game in the books and the Knicks avoid their third straight loss and win 87-95.

Carmelo Anthony had his first double double of the season with 29 points and 13 rebounds while Porzingis had another bad game, with 10 points shooting 4/15 and 4 rebounds. Jose Calderon showed sings of improvement recently and had another good game against the Pelicans with 8 points (shooting 4/5) and 3 assists in 20 minutes. Galloway finished with 15 points, 3 assists and 2 steals while Lance Thomas and Jerian Grant each contributed with 7 points.
