Knicks lose to Nets rivals as playoff hopes get dimmer
The Knicks returned to action following the All Star Break but fell 98-109 to the rivals in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
Carmelo Anthony, who scored 22 points and added 7 rebounds and 6 assists for New York expressed his disappointment after the loss.
“We can’t be giving away games like this. It’s crunch time now.”
– Carmelo Anthony
Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points and 8 rebounds also committed 4 turnovers which proved to be critical and was 1-5 from behind the arch.
“Some of them were just traveling, just passing the ball. I just got to avoid those. I’ve got to be ready for the pressure. I’ve got to be ready for guys who are going to be active defensively and they’re going to try to make me turn the ball over, so I’ve got to see the film and study from there and have less turnovers in the future”
– Kristaps Porzingis
The Knicks have lost their 7th straight game, are 0-2 with Kurt Rambis and have won only one in the last 12. The playoffs dreams seem to be moving further and further away with each game played and the only news that sparked interest was the intention of giving Jimmer Fredette a 10-day contract.
The Knicks will travel to Minneapolis tonight to face Karl-Anthony Town’s Timberwolves.
