Losing streak ends after win over Timberwolves
The Knicks started the game with a 9-0 run and until the final buzzer they never gave the lead away. There were a couple of comeback attempts by the ‘Wolves but the Knicks managed to cut them and end any hopes in the third and fourth quarter.
The series put together for the third time the only players awarded with the Rookie of the Month prize, Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis. The Latvian played just 12 minutres due to foul trouble and had just 6 points and 2 rebounds while on the other side, Towns, in over 41 minutes of playtime torched New York with 24 points and 8 boards.
After being outplayed by his brother a night before, Robin Lopez had one of his best games of the season, finishing with 26 points and 16 rebounds.
Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points last night in Minneapolis and became the 30th player in NBA history to reach the 22.000 points mark. He is now 35th in the list of all time scorers, 198 points behind Clyde Drexler.
The Knicks win 103-95 and Kurt Rambis gets his first win as the Knicks head-coach. Moreover, it was against the team who fired him after the 2011 season.
