Knicks beat Nets 124-106 behind Brunson’s 40 point night

In a stunning upset, the New York Knicks took down their cross-town rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, with a commanding 124-106 victory.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart led the charge for the Knicks, combining for an incredible 67 points, while Julius Randle finished in double-double with 18 points and 10 boards.

The Nets, on the other hand, were missing some key players following the trade deadline. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were both shipped out of town, leaving the team without their star power.

Despite the best efforts of Spencer Dinwiddie, who scored 28 points, and Cameron Johnson, who added 14 points, the Nets were unable to keep up with the Knicks.

“You’ve got to give them credit. They’ve been really good the past couple of years and they were great tonight. But I think we just had the upper hand in the second half and we kind of just turned it up a little bit and came away with a win.”

– Jalen Brunson

This victory was a significant one for the Knicks, who snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Nets.

It was also a memorable game for Josh Hart, who has been making a strong impression in his first two games as a Knick, averaging 19 points per game.

The New York Knicks find themselves in a promising position as they trail the Brooklyn Nets by just two games in the standings.

While there is still plenty of basketball left to be played this season, this represents a significant improvement for the Knicks, who have been rebuilding over the past few years.

Up-next: The Knicks (32-27) will travel to Atlanta to take on the Hawks (29-29) tomorrow night from 7:30 pm
